I recently looked at a graphic illustration depicting the dwindling amount of time reporters are able to spend on actual reporting as additional responsibilities of a multi-platform world have piled up (web copy, platform versioning, copy editing themselves, and the list goes on).
This is why I couldn’t be more excited to find the right partner to help take on the task of ethically, responsibly integrating AI into newsroom workflows to bring much-needed task relief to our incredibly talented reporters and producers.
As far out as we can see — only a human journalist could connect the dots between a mayoral candidate running a morality campaign in Tennessee and a criminal arrest for the promotion of prostitution in Texas, as our Phil Williams did. And only human curiosity on the ground in a war zone would lead a journalist like our Jason Bellini to an orphanage in Ukraine and to the discovery of Russia’s abduction of 46 Ukrainian children, connecting the world to the story of one such orphan’s escape to freedom.
If you know your way around AI and have a passion for workflow innovation that gives great journalists more time for great journalism, we’d love to hear from you!
