The Leader in Professional Publishing. Helping experts and entrepreneurs write, publish, and market their book.

About us

Scribe helps busy professionals write the books they've been thinking, talking, and dreaming about for years—without them needing to type a single word. We're obsessed with Unlocking the World's Wisdom. No, really, that's our mission statement. And it applies to everything we do. We believe everyone has a story to tell. The only thing more important to us than those stories are the People telling them. Scribe bridges the gap between who they are right now and the Author they want to be. That may sound complicated, but it's actually very simple. Our Authors have already done the hard work. They've spent their lives learning and adapting—gaining priceless wisdom and expertise. They want to share this one-of-a-kind knowledge. So, we hone that experience. We provide the platform, the soapbox, and the microphone for their story. Literally. But, it doesn't stop there. We're not just a book writing or publishing company. We're a People company. We don't just tell stories. We connect those stories with the people who need them most. Our Authors can't sit in the room one-on-one with every person they want to reach, but their book can. So we create and execute a plan to do just that—get an Author's book in the perfect reader's hands (and ears). And we're not concerned with immediate returns—though our Authors see their fair share. It's about being part of an ecosystem that evolves with and sustains Authors. Putting a book in the hands of the perfect reader isn't the end goal. It's just the beginning. The dream, the reason we do this, the reason Scribe exists, is the cumulative effect of Unlocking the World's Wisdom. It's sharing those experiences, and that expertise, with the people who need it most. It's about helping people, one book at a time.

The way you position your book will determine if you sell 10,000 copies or < 100 copies. Here’s our crash course for you to steal going over: - Why book positioning is so important - Where it originated - The 3 Positioning Pillars in The Scribe Method Positioning is about answering the question: “Why should I read this book?” It’s important to understand you can’t write or market yourself out of a positioning problem. If you get it right, the positioning makes both the writing and marketing of the book easy Quick history lesson: For a hundred years in the old traditional publishing model, every agent had to have a positioning discussion with an editor before they would buy a book. in traditional publishing circles, the positioning discussion only revolved around how the book fits into traditional sales categories. That’s where the term comes from. It’s literally a discussion of what position on the bookstore shelves the book is supposed to go because, in the twentieth century, the market for books was essentially synonymous with the needs of bookstores. This is obviously no longer the case in the digital world we now live in. Here is modern reality: Most nonfiction authors make the majority of their money from other things that a book gets them, not from their books' sales. You can always make money by selling copies, of course. But making money indirectly from a book means you’re using your book as a marketing tool to get you something else that produces revenue. A book will help you elevate your authority, increase your visibility, and get you more clients. This strategy fundamentally changes the way books are conceived and positioned. This is why at Scribe, our goal is to serve the author’s needs, not the publishing company. There are 3 steps to positioning your book: #1 Determine Your Objectives What does success look like for your book? #2 Target Your Audience Who is the audience that must be reached #3 Lock in Your Book Idea What is your book about, and why will your audience care? Your book positioning is a simple formula: - The objectives necessitate a certain audience. - The audience has their needs that must be met by the book. - The book idea must attract and provide value to the audience, so you’ll reach the objectives you want to achieve. The key thing to remember with your book: Nobody cares about you, or your book. They only care about what your book can do for them. Only after they’ve received value is when they’ll look more closely at you and your other accomplishments. Essentially, make sure you answer the question in the reader’s mind: “Why should I read this book?” If you do not know the answer to that question before you start writing, chances are you will write a book that does not serve an audience or yourself. This Google Bard result is entirely incorrect. Scribe _never_ takes a cent of authors hard-earned royalties. While AI is a powerful tool, it has a tendency to hallucinate producing inaccuracies that can sometimes render it unreliable. Authors must exercise caution. We are deeply concerned that Google Bard is spreading misleading information that confuses authors. To be absolutely clear, Scribe’s primary mission is to empower authors. We never take a dime of their royalties, and our authors retain complete creative control. This result from Google is simply wrong.

It’s common for an author to think they don’t have the knowledge in them to write a book. Or even worse, that they don’t deserve to be an author. For most people, this is a version of what’s referred to as Imposter Syndrome (not feeling worthy, despite all your success). To overcome this, just ask yourself: Are people coming to you for your knowledge? And would they be willing to pay for it? If so, then you clearly have a book in you, as long as the book is just you sharing that knowledge with people. You can overcome your imposter syndrome by focusing on that fact alone.

Congratulations to Matt Shoup for publishing his most recent book, JJ Learns Jiu Jitsu! Matt is truly a top notch human being and an incredible source of positivity in the world. We loved witnessing him publish Painted Baby and going on to further flourish as a Business Coach and Speaker. Matt talks the talk and walks the walk. He has the definition of a Servant's Heart, and it should come as no surprise to anyone that his most recent endeavor is a children's book to help children discover their inner voice and strength. JJ Learns Jiu Jitsu is not a Scribe title. We're just huge fans of Matt. He's been a great friend of Scribe, and we love to support our authors in any personal or professional endeavor that we can. Congratulations again, Matt!
