Screens founder and CEO, Otto Hanson, recently posed a question that has been on a lot of legal minds. Can AI really effectively review contracts? Can it discern what's standard in the market and does it know what to look for? The answer might surprise you. Read his post to learn more about hybrid AI and watch the video to see it in action. #legaltech #AIforlaw #legalai #contractreview https://lnkd.in/gJe8HG4x
Does AI actually work for contracts? I mean, does it know what to look for? Does it know what's market? Does it know that GDPR requires X and CCPA requires Y and a good DPA needs to have X + Y? We've tested the best frontier LLMs over and over. Knowing what should or should not be in a specific type of contract is not in the wheelhouse of current models. Insert countless memes where someone uploads a contract to ChatGPT, asks for a summary, and ChatGPT highlights a bunch of unimportant clauses and misses what actually matters. But when you let experts build their own models that learn to review and negotiate contracts like the experts, the results are more meaningful and relevant. We call this approach hybrid AI - pairing the wisdom of real human experts with the scalability and efficiency of AI. I had my own 'aha' moment when I used ScreensAI last week to get highly relevant AI results within seconds of opening up a DPA I needed to review. I summarized the experience in the video below. Would you trust AI more if you were using customized, hybrid AI models that were built by SMEs with deep expertise in the specific type of contract you're reviewing?

As excited as we all are about how GenAI might contribute to the evolution of law, industry adoption is rightfully throttled by trust. The more trust you have in the accuracy and security of AI tools, the more confident you’ll be using them and relying on them. In the spirit of building trust, Screens CTO Evan Harris and team decided to publicly disclose our GenAI accuracy levels where we tested an average of 14 legal standards across 51 contracts for a total of 720 human-verified, provable data points. The results, and the detailed methodology used, were published today by Richard Truman at Artificial Lawyer in his article Screens Publicly Announces 97.5% GenAI Accuracy in Transparency Move (link below). We believe the best way to serve you and your legal teams is to be transparent and show you what high GenAI accuracy standards look like on our side. https://lnkd.in/eXNaGxpN
