An important part of what we do at SPR is building lasting relationships with communities in our development areas. We aim to be a good neighbour and support communities as best we can, whether it’s keeping them fully informed on the progress of projects, creating community benefit opportunities or getting involved in local events 💚 Debs Bryce, our Community Engagement Manager for MachairWind and a local to the isle of Jura, recently attended the annual Port Ellen Sports Day in Islay, where we donated a new community marquee. The marquee will be used as a foundation for future sports days every year. Having this available locally means it can also be used for other parties and charities, making it a valuable asset to the island. It’s great to get involved in local events like this one. We look forward to continuing engagement at the Islay Show next month, when our MachairWind team will be out and about, providing updates on the project! #OffshoreWind #Community #MachairWind

Offshore construction for our East Anglia THREE offshore windfarm will soon be underway. The windfarm will consist of 95 turbines generating enough clean, green energy to power the equivalent of over 1.3 million homes each year, a huge project that has gone through years of careful planning! Many people have been involved in the project across its different phases, both from within SPR and its contractors. Hear from our team about what it has taken to bring East Anglia THREE to life 👇 https://lnkd.in/ez2cxRSG #EastAnglia #OffshoreWind

Fantastic to see another major milestone hit on our journey towards the completion of East Anglia THREE ✅ Thanks to our partner Haizea Wind Group for their hard work - and we look forward to seeing the remaining 49 units very soon 💚
The first monopile of our new facilities was completed last week! Once the coating is completed, this foundation will be ready to be shipped to ScottishPower Renewables’ East Anglia THREE OWF. The windfarm will be Iberdrola’s largest offshore windfarm – and the second biggest in the world – when it comes in to operation in 2026. With a capacity of 1,400 MW, it will produce enough green electricity to power the equivalent of more than 1.3 million British households! Kudos to Haizea Bilbao’s team for hitting this milestone! We've got 49 more monopiles to go 💪

Our Development MD, Gillian Noble, will be joining the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero Onshore Wind Taskforce. Speaking about her appointment, she said: “As an established, proven and critical part of the UK energy mix, onshore wind offers a huge opportunity to increase UK energy security. I’m delighted to be joining the taskforce to support the development of a roadmap to get us there. “Given ScottishPower Renewables’ leading role in the sector, I know that by collaborating across industry to deploy more onshore wind, we’ll not only generate more clean, green electricity, but will also be able to share more community benefit funding to support local ambitions, unlock more environmental and ecology investment, and create more jobs and supply chain opportunities across the country. And we’re ready, willing and able to work together to do just that.” Read more here: https://lnkd.in/eND6Dfwv #OnshoreWind #DESNZ #Taskforce

We are delivering a cleaner and greener future for people, businesses and communities in East Anglia! 💚 Whether this is creating local jobs, working with local suppliers or providing STEM education, we are committed to building lasting connections in the region. 👷♀️ East Anglia ONE supported around 3,500 jobs at peak construction and created 100 long-term jobs at its Lowestoft base. Our East Anglia THREE project will support more than 2,300 jobs during the two-year offshore construction period and over 100 roles in operation and maintenance over its lifetime. The fourth and final electricity transformer for our East Anglia THREE offshore windfarm has now arrived safely at the onshore convertor site in Bramford, Suffolk. The transformers were built by Siemens Energy in Germany and have been transported to site from the Port of Ipswich over the past four weekends. Each unit weighs over 300 tonnes – the equivalent of more than 60 African elephants 🐘 Thanks to our partners Keltbray, Allelys and Associated British Ports and to National Highways, local roads authorities and the police for their support and efforts over the past month. Most of all, a huge thanks to local communities and businesses for their patience and understanding during the traffic management and moving operations 💚 The equipment will play a key role in ensuring the clean, green electricity produced by East Anglia THREE’s 95 offshore turbines can feed into the national grid – enough to power the equivalent of over 1.3 million homes 🏡
