We would like to spotlight Jake C., another valuable member of the NYU SPS Schack REIT Investment Fund. Jake has recently completed his time at the REIT Fund, where he specialized in the residential sector, with a strong focus on manufactured homes. Jake is pursuing a Master’s degree in Real Estate, specializing in finance and investments. He has demonstrated exceptional performance in his academic pursuits, evidenced by maintaining a 3.9 GPA and being selected as the recipient of both the Cushman & Wakefield and Capital Markets scholarships. In addition to demonstrating a strong commitment to his educational goals, Jake worked as an Alternative Investment Analyst at Capital Advisor Partners. In this role, he played a key role in launching an investment fund, securing funding, and sourcing new investors. This past summer, Jake worked as an Acquisition and Development Analyst at RockFarmer Properties, where he performed financial analysis and cash flow modeling on commercial real estate properties across Texas and New York City. This Fall, Jake will be working as a Teacher’s Assistant for Professor Timothy Savage’s Real Estate Finance class. We wish him continued success in his future endeavors! 🌟 Coming back from Labor Day, we would like to highlight a few departing members of the NYU SPS Schack REIT Investment Fund. ⬇ Today, we recognize Jackson Owens, a former member of the REIT Fund and an MSRE candidate who focused on Investment and Real Estate Development. With personal experience in multifamily real estate investing and over seven years in management consulting, Jackson brought a wealth of diverse perspectives to our team. His expertise in supply chain and operations for numerous Fortune 100 companies and his ability to manage large-scale projects and perform detailed Excel analyses made him an invaluable asset to the Fund. As an analyst for the Office sector, Jackson's work led to strategic investments and optimized allocation, aligning with the Fund’s strategy and driving greater returns. Jackson joined the REIT Fund to deepen his knowledge of REIT investing and valuation while collaborating with some of the brightest minds in the industry. We are thrilled to highlight Allison Chen as the Self-Storage Sector Strategist of the NYU SPS Schack REIT Investment Fund. Allison is a current MSRE candidate focusing on Finance and Investment. She worked as an Econ strategist last semester at the fund and now focuses on self-storage REITs. Previously, she worked at Swire Properties, where she was involved in developing and leasing over 8M sq ft of office space. She has solid experience in large-scale, ground-up development projects with numerous complexities and creating a place that can be a destination for occupiers and the community. We are excited to introduce Nick Gershfeld, the newest member of NYU SPS Schack REIT Investment Fund, who is joining the Industrial Sector team. Nick is a current MSRE candidate with a concentration in Finance and Investment. After graduating from Rowan University in 2019, Nick has garnered significant supply chain & logistics experience that helps bring valuable insight to the fund. His previous roles, coupled with his real estate financial knowledge gained from the program, have provided him with a better understanding of the industrial sector, allowing him to make informed investment decisions that align with the Fund’s goals. Given his background and interest in real investment experience, Nick joined the REIT Fund to leverage his past industrial knowledge and contribute to an innovative and growing team. In his new role as an Industrial Sector Analyst, his goal is to bring a new perspective to the team collaboratively while learning from and working with his peers toward the mutual goal of maximizing the fund’s returns and beating the previous year’s industrial sector performance. We want to highlight Antonio Lulli, a former NYU SPS Schack REIT Investment Fund member. Antonio is an MSRE candidate who is graduating in August. His focus was Finance and Investment, which complements his extensive background in real estate finance. He is originally from Peru and brings varied professional experience, including stints in various US geographies and Peru with Fannie Mae, HKS, and other reputable real estate firms across finance, development, leasing, and advisory roles. He was formerly the lead Industrial Strategist and brought technical proficiency plus an international perspective to the Fund. He joined the Fund to deepen his understanding of the confluence of real estate and the broader capital markets, both conceptually and through improved analytical skills in this area. After completing his degree at NYU Schack, Antonio will pursue an MBA at Chicago Booth, where he hopes to continue his training in finance and leadership. We are excited to spotlight Raj Chauhan as the new lead industrial sector strategist at the NYU SPS Schack REIT Investment Fund. Raj is an MS in Real Estate Finance and Investments candidate at NYU Schack. With a rich background in CMBS originations, investment analysis, and portfolio management, Raj brings valuable insights to the Fund. Raj’s experience in CMBS originations at Starwood Mortgage Capital and private wealth management at Goldman Sachs allows him to analyze market trends, perform due diligence on public REITs, and make informed investment decisions aligning with the Fund's investment objectives. He joined the REIT Fund to get hands-on experience in investing in public REITs and leverage his investment knowledge to contribute to a team focused on maximizing returns and expanding the portfolio. Raj followed mortgage REITs and reported on their earnings calls to understand the current state of the mortgage REIT market. He also helped organize events on behalf of the mortgage team and worked with teammates to make investment decisions. He looks forward to being the Lead Strategist for the Industrials team and achieving outstanding results for another year. We are thrilled to highlight Thomas Walsh as the new co-portfolio manager of the NYU SPS Schack REIT Investment Fund. Thomas is an MSRE candidate at NYU Schack, focusing on Finance and Investment. With a strong background in real estate investment analysis and portfolio/asset management, he brings valuable insights to the Fund. Thomas's experience includes advanced equity analysis during his studies at the University of Maryland and hands-on portfolio management at St. John Properties, where he contributed to managing over 24 million SF of commercial properties. Thomas has led the Timber and Specialty REIT sectors at the REIT Fund. As a Portfolio Manager, he aims to deploy an investment and allocation strategy with an increased focus on the real estate holdings and exposure of the companies the fund is invested in and looking to invest in, together with co-portfolio manager Zoe Kimmelman and a team of Sector Strategists.
