Last week, on October 24th, we completed a flawless launch and flight, which achieved all test objectives in the full characterization of our High-Altitude Platform Systems (HAPS). This marked the final flight in our 2024 Control Dynamics program, which accomplished the ambitious milestones of controlled relocation, full diurnal flight, and the ability to stay over an area of operation for extended periods of time. This pivotal step showcased readiness for our upcoming 2025 Endurance Program and our first step into commercialization. Thank you to our incredible team, partners, and supporters who have helped us reach new heights.

Sceye is opening up access to the stratosphere, in the same way satellites opened up access to orbit over 50 years ago.
About us
Sceye has created a new class of platforms capable of flying the unchartered stratosphere, the boundary between our atmosphere and space. Sceye airships fly at some 65,000 feet (20 km) and can remain aloft for year-long missions, can either station-keep over a fixed spot or fly long-range missions. Solar-powered with large banks of batteries, Sceye airships lift large payloads of terrestrial equipment into the sky including cameras, sensors, hyper-spectral imaging, radar, and communications infrastructure. And when meshed together, they form a layer of virtual infrastructure in the sky.

Thank you ITWatch, from our CEO Mikkel Frandsen's home country of Denmark, for interviewing him about Sceye’s vision for pioneering stratospheric platforms to deliver affordable and reliable internet to underserved regions. “I have no doubt that this industry is going to explode. We're just the first to do it. I believe it will become as normal to see stratospheric platforms in uncontrolled airspace as it is to see trains on rails and ships in ports today." During our last test flight, Sceye successfully completed a full diurnal mission with our High-Altitude Platform System (HAPS). This milestone is a momentous demonstration of our platform’s ability to sustain continuous operations, powered by solar energy captured during daylight and stored in batteries to operate throughout the night. Why is this significant? It proves that our HAPS can endure and adapt to fluctuations in temperature, solar availability, and atmospheric conditions. This breakthrough paves the way for a new layer of infrastructure at a vantage point that offers greater benefits than space-based systems, and allows for real-world applications in monitoring, telecommunications, and environmental research. Thank you, Diario ABC (ABC Spain), for speaking with Alfredo Serrano from the Sceye team to highlight the potential of HAPS in Europe. Unlike drones and satellites, Sceye's High-Altitude Platform Systems (HAPS) maintain a stationary position just 20 kilometers above the Earth, providing continuous coverage and monitoring. As Alfredo explained, “Reaching those heights where there is a more stable environment, above the effects of weather and air traffic, offers a direct line of sight to large areas of the Earth’s surface.” HAPS are unique because they offer the flexibility of satellites with lower operational costs, more precision, and sustainability—powered by solar energy and equipped to tackle global challenges from telecommunications to climate monitoring.
