Have you heard? In July, we welcomed the first residents to Josephine, our new luxury high-rise multifamily community in Philadelphia's desirable Center City neighborhood. With the opening of The Laurel and 1909 Rittenhouse in Rittenhouse Square in 2022, and the forthcoming opening of The Alcott in Philly's Northern Liberties later this year, this is an exciting time as we continue to grow our footprint in the City of Brotherly Love. Watch this video for a bird's-eye view of this stunning 27-story community before learning more about this project at https://lnkd.in/ejNxaH2k. Thanks to Elevated Angles LLC for capturing this project in its many different stages.

SCB has been announced as a Multifamily Residential Finalist in AIA Chicago's Lerch Bates People’s Choice Awards, presented in partnership with the Chicago Architecture Center. The Belden-Stratford was originally constructed in 1923 as a luxury hotel in Chicago’s Lincoln Park. After years of disparate renovations and a conversion to apartments in the 1980s, it was purchased by new owners in 2018. SCB, along with Vinci Hamp Architects, renovated the building for modern living while preserving and restoring key elements of the original design. Please add your vote for the Belden-Stratford: https://lnkd.in/gPaKarmi You can join us at #Designight2024 on Thursday, September 5, 2024 as we celebrate with our community and find out if we have won! #AIAChicago

The SCB design team recently participated in the Seattle Design Festival where they invited festival goers to create a collaborative façade by hand sketching illustrations on colorful panels, contributing to a tapestry of perspectives, views, and stories. "We wanted to start a conversation about how identity and personality can be expressed in dense urban living with our exhibit," said Steven Bohlman, Project Architect. "Using the festival's prompt 'What if,' we asked people to imagine what it would be like if we all defined our window on the world."

ResCo, SCB’s third project at Butler University, offers a fresh take on the campus’ tradition by transforming a dated residence and dining hall into a vibrant student community. As part of a multi-phased transformation of the campus residential experience, the 413-bed community was updated with new finishes and furniture throughout, while under-utilized shared spaces were re-programmed to offer a range of social and academic-focused amenities. An expanded servery and double-height main seating area create a bright and welcoming 250-seat dining hall, which offers a variety of fresh-made food options and a large grab-and-go. We were challenged to overcome the perception of the building’s exterior, which stands in contrast to the campus’ more collegiate gothic vocabulary while integrating the residential and dining experience within the Butler tradition. Thus, the vision for the interior design leaned heavily towards creating hospitality-forward, classically collegiate spaces in line with Butler’s distinct campus context. A large mural in the dining hall captures well-known places and cultural campus references. We were honored with an Award of Merit for Residential from AIA Honolulu during the 2024 Design Awards program. Līlia Waikīkī, a 615,000-square-foot, 28-story residential tower located in the heart of Waikiki, was developed in conjunction with the Queen Emma Land Trust and offers 402 apartments, 20 percent of which are affordable units. Throughout the design, SCB sought to infuse the project with the spirit of the island’s beloved Queen Emma and her passion for the environment, wellness, and preservation of culture. Congratulations to SCB’s Strachan Forgan, AIA RIBA and Francesco Mozzati and Oliver McMillan, Brookfield Properties, Benjamin Woo Architects, Jules Wilson Design Studio, Nordic PCL Construction, and the whole project team. Mahalo to AIA Honolulu! Learn more about Līlia Waikīkī: https://lnkd.in/gmsxwySH

Picture arriving at Canal Station in Chicago’s South Loop. Led by SCB’s architectural and interior design studios in partnership with 601W Companies, Telos Group, LLC, and JLL, Canal Station is a groundbreaking redevelopment that converts a 6-story, 850,000-square-foot former single-tenant office building into a dynamic, multi-tenant industry hub. The redesign began with a bold approach to the building's façade, enhancing natural light penetration and establishing a fresh, distinctive identity at the main entry point. A tenant amenity program awaits on the second floor, including a lounge with a terrazzo bar, custom rattan seating niches, modern furnishings, and a state-of-the-art fitness center. A standout feature is the introduction of private tenant terraces at the building's corners, providing exclusive outdoor spaces.
