🏈 Last week, the League was proud to partner with the San Francisco @49ers, and the team’s Faithful to the Planet coalition, to organize a Volunteer Day at the iconic Muir Woods National Monument. 🌎 Restoration efforts included “flossing the forest,” – removing dirt & debris to improve drainage and visitor experience within the historic redwood park.🌲 Thank you to the National Park Service for hosting the event and to volunteers from Levi Strauss & Co. SAP, Cadence Design Systems & H/L Agency (on behalf of Toyota North America), that contributed their time to help support the park and protect this old-growth redwood forest. Indigenous leaders are asking California Governor Newsom to sign AB 1284 to offer a clearer path for Tribes to co-manage lands and waters.  "This is going to allow us to deepen our relationship on a government-to-government level, it'll give us better access to our traditional ancestral territories to improve the environment and to reconnect our people to the land." -- Scott Sullivan, vice chair of Tolowa Dee-ni' Nation.

A 394-acre tract along the Russian River, home to the iconic Clar Tree—a rare old-growth redwood towering at 278 feet—will be forever protected from development. 🌿 Located near Guerneville, this majestic tree, with a 16-foot circumference, miraculously survived 19th-century logging and will now stand tall for future generations. #Conservation #Redwoods #NaturePreserved

Big Basin Redwoods State Park's new Rancho del Oso Welcome Center is a great place to learn about the area, with a view of the marsh and ocean and interpretive signs about fire and wetlands.
