We had a great day living our value of Community Outreach. The annual event organized by the United Way of Sheboygan County saw more than 60 different nonprofit projects across our community. The Sargento Family mulched, weeded, painted, chopped, cooked, cleaned and planted all day for different agencies who need our help. When it’s time to introduce a new kind of cheese to grocery stores, many brands spend millions to develop a product without putting much additional money into marketing. But at Sargento, as its third-generation family CEO Louie Gentine explains, the company spends millions on advertising to make sure a new variety of cheddar or mozzarella is well-received. “I don't call them big bets because I don't think they’re bets,” says the 49-year-old Sargento chairman, who succeeded his father in 2013. “Our opportunities are well-vetted. They're great investments, and we’ve had more successes than we've had failures.” That strategy has helped Wisconsin-based Sargento maintain its position as a cheese powerhouse with $1.8 billion in annual sales. As the company enters its 71st year, Sargento’s slice of the $14 billion U.S. cheese industry continues to grow. It is now America’s top-selling natural cheese brand. We teamed up with the Milwaukee Brewers for a day of action to show our commitment to fighting hunger. Center fielder Blake Perkins and Right fielder Sal Frelick joined our CEO Louie Gentine and our partners Hunger Task Force to serve children at a community meal site in Milwaukee. “This is our first of what we hope will become a special tradition for Sargento and the Brewers because we know that hunger during the summer for kids is a big issue. We want to do our part to feed kids and families in need,” said Louie. We donated thousands of cheese slices and cheese sticks to the Milwaukee Center For Independence who provides the meal service for hundreds of children all summer long. Sargento donates $200 to Hunger Task Force for every double the Brewers™️ hit. Through our ‘Double Helping for Hunger,’ we have donated nearly a quarter million dollars since it began in 2018. #SargentoFamily volunteers painted faces, played games with the kids and Sarge did the Cha Cha Slide.🕺🧀 We had a great time making a real impact in our community with great organizations who understand, as we do, what matters most. #SargentoFamily #givingback #hunger #ThisIsMyCrew

This summer, we've all seen the 23 interns and co-ops on teams throughout Sargento contributing to meaningful projects in all areas of the company, impacting the business, culture, and community.
