Our Smoke Detector Pilot Project utilizes special cameras and smoke detectors to provide an early warning system for wildfires that occur near our transmission line towers. Wildfire preparedness helps us protect the Valley’s watershed.

I was honored to speak today on behalf of SRP at the 2024 League of Arizona Cities and Towns Pre-Conference event hosted by the Center for the Future of Arizona (CFA). SRP is proud to be a part of the CFA’s efforts to foster a future that reflects the aspirations and values of our communities. We too believe in listening and driving action centered on Arizonans' needs and priorities. That’s why, based on feedback from our customers and community, SRP is pursuing all options to ensure customers have reliable, affordable and sustainable power in the coming years. For example, we’re investing in clean energy with plans to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. And we’re tapping flexible, modern gas when needed to help avoid high prices and dangerous outages. Thank you to the CFA for bringing Arizonans together for a stronger and brighter future for our state, and to all attendees for advancing #TheArizonaWeWant during this week's conference. 👏

National Navajo Code Talkers Day honors the impact of Native American code talkers who served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. In remembrance of their contributions, the SRP Employee Resource Group Native Americans Together in Vision and Empowerment (N.A.T.I.V.E.) hosted an event for employees to hear powerful remarks from Ronnie Towne, the daughter of code talker and former state senator Arthur J. Hubbard Sr. “With the 10-year anniversary of my father’s passing occurring this year, I’m reminded of how my work with the Code Talkers brought me closer to my father and mother, closer to my Clan (Bitter Water), and closer to the Navajo people in general. Code Talker Day is a day to remember, a day to honor and a day to give thanks for the freedoms I enjoy living with.” - Ronnie Towne

SRP meets record-breaking demand and protects Arizonans by investing in clean energy plus flexible, modern natural gas that helps avoid high prices and dangerous outages. These resources have been critical to meeting this summer’s demand. New additions like the Sierra Estrella and Superstition four-hour energy storage facilities, the Brittlebush Solar Park, and natural gas generation at the Copper Crossing Energy and Research Center help provide power on the hottest days of the year.
