This past Wednesday, we hosted our friends at Utah Department of Public Safety to talk about vulnerable roadways users (which includes cyclists) with members of the media. One alarming fact we talked about: helmet usage is going down from a statistical standpoint. Not going to preach, but, yeah ok we are going to preach. Let's try to fix that! https://lnkd.in/gh49m5Q9
We are proud to share our 2023 Annual Report, which looks back on a transformational year for Bicycle Collective. With profound measurable impacts in the communities we serve across the state of Utah, to building and opening our New Hub on 325 West 900 South in SLC, to another year of pulling off Bike Prom, we are grateful for all the staff, board members, volunteers, and clients who helped make this happen. https://lnkd.in/ggq3pFdQ
Some of our SLC folks attended a press event with Mayor Mendenhall revealing details about Salt Lake City's eBike incentive program. https://lnkd.in/gXgnnx2z
Over the moon stoked, humbled, and proud of Salt Lake City Bicycle Collective and what we did yesterday! Let's ride.
We did something yesterday, together! https://lnkd.in/dJdpTWFC #nonprofitleadership #activetransportation #slc #saltlakecity #bicyclecollective #bicycle #bicycles #bikeshop #granarydistrict #nonprofit

Bicycle Collective is stoked and honored to be recognized by The Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute at the University of Utah - David Eccles School of Business as an Informed Decision Maker 2024--an award we did not know existed. It is made more special because Gardner Policy found us through our impact. Each year, The Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute recognizes individuals and entities that work, often behind the scenes and with little fanfare, to help our community prosper. They call them “Informed Decision Makers” and select them based on criteria consistent with the Institute’s committable core values: responsibility to the community, integrity and relevance, accountability, collaboration, and a positive work environment. At Bicycle Collective, we understand that nothing worthwhile is achieved alone. Through the investment of time, talent, and passion of the Collective's more than 300 volunteers, 12 board members, and 23 staff members across the State, we ensure others have reliable bikes and independent mobility. This is a Collective award. Dr. Abe Bakhsheshy, the keynote speaker, inspired all of us with his words of positivity and kindness and reminded each of us that we all have the opportunity to make an impact in our community and on others through a simple act of kindness. We were thrilled to share the recognition along with Seager Memorial Clinic Circles Salt Lake@ Ross Van Vranken and Theresa Foxley. All are making measurable and positive impacts throughout Utah. Michael Hernandez, Thomas Cooke, Sam Short, Donna Matturro McAleer board co-chairs Ann Mackin and Todd Reeder, attended an elegant awards luncheon at the Thomas S. Monson Center. Thank you Chris Redgrave, Jennifer Robinson, Colleen Larson, Nick Thiriot, Natalie Gochnour, and your team for hosting such an elegant and memorable event. "Margaret Mead, a cultural anthropologist said: "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful and committed citizens change the world; indeed it is the only thing that ever has."
Our solar monitoring screen has been installed in our New Hub lounge area, but it is also viewable online (there is a slideshow with some static images, but be patient, the live monitoring screen will come up): https://lnkd.in/gzCXf_C3
As many of you know, we opened our doors to the public on November 29, 2023. It occurred to us, we never really celebrated properly. Get ready for a little bit of a party at the New Hub. Ribbons might get cut. Save the date for May, 2, 2024, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, or thereabouts. Details will follow! Of course, if you need a bike, parts, tires, tubes, wheels, lock, lube, cranks, water bottles, you get it, just come on in! #bicyclecollective #bicycle #bicycles #bikeshop#slcbikecollective #granarydistrict #nonprofit#nonprofitbikeshop
The 300 West Bike Lane is on the northeast side of Bicycle Collective's New Hub. It intersects with the 9-Line Bike Trail that connects east to west from about 1300 East to the Jordan River Parkway Trail. Enjoy the ride. #activetransportation #bicycling #bicycles #slc
Salt Lake City made the top 3 for work completed on the 300 West bike lane. This is right around the corner from our Salt Lake City Bicycle Collective New Hub, which is 325 West and 900 South. Enjoy the ride! https://lnkd.in/gq23_fYx
