We’re delighted to celebrate a Mercy Award winner among our rehabilitation and behavioral health units: Michelle Rispoli. Michelle has been a nurse for decades and has been working with Saline Health System for the past four years. In December 2022, Michelle was named director for the behavioral health unit. “Michelle’s focus and intention of creating a culture of empathy for our patients, a culture of inclusivity for her employees, a created space of safety and growth, can only be developed by a gifted and compassionate leader,” said Rita Snider, AVP of Strategic Growth and Operations. The Mercy Award recognizes one employee from each of Lifepoint Health’s hospitals who profoundly touches the lives of others and best represents the spirit and values on which the company was founded: compassion, dedication and a merciful spirit. Each hospital winner, including Michelle and Shantonio, will be considered for Lifepoint’s companywide Mercy Award. The companywide winner will be announced this summer.

Congratulations go out to Shantonio Elliott, the 2024 Mercy Award winner for Saline Memorial Hospital! Elliott has worked in clinic operations and medical management for 14 years, including two and a half years with Saline Physician Services. As practice administrator, he oversees day-to-day operations for all the clinics in the Saline Clinics network. “Shantonio’s unwavering dedication to exceeding expectations, to going above and beyond the call of duty, is truly exceptional, reflecting a level of commitment and compassion that transcends the regular requirements of his role,” said Mike Gilmore, director of Saline Physician Services. “Throughout all his interactions, Shantonio consistently demonstrates profound respect for others, showing empathy, understanding and kindness in every endeavor.” For the full article, visit https://lnkd.in/g4_XjQEH.

He’s simply the best! Dr. Lewis Porter, board-certified general surgeon, was recently voted as Best Surgeon (Upper Extremity) in AY magazine’s Best of 2024. Dr. Porter been with Saline Health System for 15 years. He launched the hospital's bariatric program and has served as chief of surgery. He is currently director of trauma services and is a member of the hospital’s advisory board. He is also a fellow with the American College of Surgeons. We appreciate Dr. Porter and the difference he is making in the lives of our patients!

We love his dedication to advancing nursing, not only here at Saline Health System (and our sister hospital National Park Medical Center), but throughout the state as a member of the board of directors for the Arkansas Center for Nursing, Inc. We are very proud to share that Becker’s Hospital Review has named Chief Nursing Officer Char Boulch as one of the Black Leaders to Know for 2024! She has made many positive contributions and helped lead the hospital to several key accomplishments since she joined the Saline Health System family in February 2023. Here are a few of them: ·        We earned our reaccreditation with The Joint Commission after our first on-site accreditation survey in more than 10 years. ·        She introduced a monthly vlog called Coffee with Char, where she shares positive, encouraging insights with the hospital team. ·        We earned a Leapfrog Grade A for patient safety for Fall 2023. ·        She started our #WellnessWednesday program to support the team’s mental and physical wellbeing. ·        She earned her Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) certification. Congratulations to Jasmine, a registered nurse on our Behavioral Health Unit, for being this quarter’s recipient of the #DAISYaward! She received multiple nominations from patients and her team, which included the following kind: “She is truly concerned about your cares and feelings. She is a good nurse, and I just appreciated being her patient.” “I don’t think I would have made it without her. She helped me in so many ways to cope with what I was going through.” “Jasmine sets the standard for what psychiatric nurses should be. She is steady in her determination to keep our unit, patients and staff members safe. …”

We did it! We earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval! Saline Memorial Hospital underwent a rigorous, unannounced onsite review Jan. 17-19. The reviewers evaluated our compliance with its performance standards spanning several areas, including emergency management, environment of care, infection prevention and others, and we received our reaccreditation.
