  • Chalk Paint Armoire DIY Project #Tutorial The below armoire was from my father, a great Italian man who loved the world and loved people. It's a nice piece. I inherited it when he passed. But, since it was in the basement family room, it was way too dark for the room. As I mentioned in last week's post, I purchased a new sofa for the family room area, so this started my journey with chalk paint. So, instead of spending thousands of dollars to purchase a new one, I decided to transform this masculine armoire into a more feminine one using my gray chalk paint with white wax. Follow along and see the chalk paint armoire DIY steps! Supplies and tools used for Chalk Paint Armoire DIY Project Below is the list of things I used to transform this DIY armoire project. • If you are like me and so many other bloggers, you probably want people to share your blog posts.  But, if visitors feel that your site is too difficult or challenging to share your content, they may just leave and not share at all. Your visitor should not have to do the legwork so let's make it easy on them. This post will talk about how to make your blog more shareable. 3 Powerful Ways to Get Visitors To Share Your Content There are a variety of plugins for sharing buttons. If you have any of these I listed below, feel free to click the link to read more. Add Customizable Share Buttons The AddThis share button plugin has an option to modify the buttons. Your website theme may also have a sharing plugin. Genesis Framework has a sharing plugin called, "Genesis Simple Share". It is super easy to use, but there are some design options you can use. MODIFY YOUR SHARE BUTTONS: Most plugins have a set of sharing buttons preset for you. But, if possible, modify what the order is and what buttons are available from different social media sites. If you have recipes on your site, make sure you have all the food sharing buttons visible so the visitors don't have to find them. Select the buttons you feel work best for your visitors. CHECK THE POSITIONING AND SIZE OF THE SHARE BUTTONS: If the post has sharing buttons that float on the side or are fixed at the top or the bottom, it works best to quickly share a post. You don't want to have your visitors looking too hard for the sharing buttons.  And, check to make sure the buttons are large enough to press. On mobile devices, if the buttons are too small, people may click on the wrong button which may frustrate them. DON'T FORGET TO CHECK THE SETTINGS ON YOUR SHARING PLUGIN TO MAKE SURE YOUR INFORMATION IS INCLUDED.  Another plugin example is Shareaholic. The Shareaholic plugin has a feature where your Twitter handle can be Visit the post for more information. #sabrinasadminservices https://lnkd.in/eDUPcPC

  • How long do you keep your business files? Do you keep them forever or get rid of them after a specific time? Maintaining files for a business is different from keeping your files. Many business files need to be kept to varying lengths of time. Over the years, small business owners have asked me these questions. The IRS doesn't have a clear, across-the-board answer to this question, so here is what I suggest.  If you wish to visit the IRS.gov website, click here. Topics DiscussedFirst, let's go through how long you should keep your personal records. How long does it take to keep general small business records?Items to keep in general small business records.  Paperwork to keep for at least two years?Paperwork to keep for at least four years?Paperwork to keep for at least six years?Paper to keep indefinitely? Some exceptions for indefinitely kept items First, let's go through how long you should keep your personal records. You can review and shred personal files after three years if you haven't been audited. Keep all the supporting documents that relate to your tax return, and get rid of the rest. Things to keep are W-2s, expense reimbursements, 1099s, mileage logs, itemized support paperwork like mortgage taxes, investment capital gains paperwork, etc. When should you shred? If the tax year is 2023 and you file/pay it in April 2024, you could go through the paperwork and shred it after April 2027. Now, let's talk about small business records. How long does it take to keep general small business records? Small businesses have many more types of paperwork to go through, and you will probably need to keep it longer.  I recommend seven years for small businesses, but the IRS says three years. If you filed in April 2024, you should keep the files until 2030 or 2027 at the earliest. The IRS says that there are some exceptions. "Keep records for six years if you do not report income that you Visit the post for more information. #sabrinasadminservices https://lnkd.in/e99s4Kf

  • An Easy Way To Do Wrapping Paper Organizing Today, I was wrapping presents when I realized that I needed to reorganize my wrapping paper and organize drawers. I do not like wrapping presents. It seems like it would be fun, but it takes too long to do to make it enjoyable. So, I created this easy way to organize my wrapping paper storage so I can quickly grab what I need when I need it. Over the years, it has saved me a ton of time and money. Let me show you how I made it. First, I started with a three-drawer plastic drawer cart by Sterilite. The images below are from Amazon.com, and they give you a visual idea of what this one looked like. (Affiliate link - if you choose to click through and buy a product from Amazon.com, I will receive a small referral commission at no additional cost to you.)  The drawers come out quickly when I am wrapping presents, and the frame Visit the blog for more details. #sabrinasorganizing https://lnkd.in/dVrdnBT #DIYgifts #SavingMoney #Gifts #Savingtime #Artsupplies

  • For this month's fabulous small business owner interview, I'm going to turn the tables on myself. I'm not fabulous =), but my entrepreneur interviewees are! You can read about them here. Being an entrepreneur, we need to remember that we need to evolve to make our business a success over time. So, I am going to share how I evolved my business while answering the fabulous small business owner interview questions. Here I go! Tell us about your business and when you started. Why did you start it? My road to my small business entrepreneurship was not a straight determined one. I didn't start my business right away, nor did I jump right in with two feet and drop my other job. I started my organizing business as a side business around 1994 before there was a Professional Organizer job title. I worked with several of my parent's small business friends and colleagues who needed help organizing and purging their home and office. I did this for many years until my second child was born and decided to take the next step into becoming an entrepreneur. Even at my day job, I was creating systems.  My day job was as an administrative assistant, then an office manager. I had the opportunity to create several effective systems and reporting documents that were established nationally by my employers. This is where I started finding my calling to help simplify systems in businesses. So, when it came time for me to start Sabrina's Organizing and Admin Services around 2001, I knew I wanted to combine my love of helping organize clients' homes and offices. As my business grew, I had injured my body and had to stop doing hands-on organizing. I had to make a decision, what should I do with my skills, and how can I continue to evolve my business? At this point, I realized what I was passionate about; it was to help small business owners. I loved supporting these driven individuals and wanted to continue doing so while allowing Visit the post for more information. #sabrinasadminservices https://lnkd.in/eNEv88M

  • Instant Pot #Turkey #Sausage and Spinach Soup Recipe If you are like me and you are experiencing lots of frigid weather this winter, you will love this recipe. The Instant Pot has become a very useful tool for us for #weeknight meals. And I am loving it. Pressure cooker soups are just so easy to make, and wow, the taste is out of this world. I remember my mother using a pressure cooker when I was growing up, and it just downright scared me because of the wheezing sound that would happen when it would depressurize.  But, with the Instant Pot, it doesn't bother me that much. One, because I am older. And, two because it's in a free-standing pot and not sitting on the stovetop where it can easily fall over.  If you have never tried it and want to, this recipe is an easy one to make in your new Instant Pot. Try it and taste it for yourself. • 20 Ways To Take Care Of Yourself in 20 Minutes on Busy Days Let me ask you a few questions: How well do you take care of yourself?  Do you do it consistently?  How do you feel after you take care of yourself?  We are told to take care of ourselves, but what does that really mean?  For me, it doesn't mean a grand gesture; it means those subtle actions I do regularly to improve my quality of life.   If you haven't read my first 20 ways to take care of yourself, here is the link. Since the first list was so popular, I wanted to share another 20 ways to take care of yourself in 20 minutes. 1 At Home Facial Give yourself a well-deserved at-home facial to relieve dry skin.
