  • 26 Days of Your Favorite Things #Challenge While thinking about November, one word comes to mind -- gratitude -- being grateful for the things we have and the family and friends around us. Since gratitude challenges are common, and you can find them anywhere, I decided to add a twist to this Your Favorite Things Challenge. You are probably asking, "Why should I do this?" Well, the answer is, that you need to know what you truly, above all else, love in your home. By determining what you love, you can then find what you don't care too much about. And, therefore, get rid of those items. It is not all about needing the item. It is quite emotional. People buy things for several reasons. Below are some of the reasons you may have when you buy something. Reasons why you buy things for your home. There are many reasons why you buy things for your home. • Whether you are an independent contractor or are a small business owner, to stay on top of your business throughout the year, doing tasks quarterly will make your end-of-year much easier and income taxes much less stress-free. So, to do that, I recommend making a Quarterly Small Business #Financial Checklist. Since quarters 1, 2, and 3 are pretty much the same, you can create one #checklist for all these quarters. Today, I will share the areas to add to this quarterly checklist. This involved primarily financial tasks that need to be done to make sure your business is running smoothly throughout the year. Table of contentsBank Accounts TasksCredit Card Account TasksProfit and Loss Report/Balance SheetQuarterly Business Taxes TasksAccounts Payable (Money Going Out) TasksAccounts Receivable (Money Coming In) TasksInventory Tasks (optional)Payroll Tasks(optional)Conclusion Keep in mind that this post will discuss eight different task groups. However, you may not use all of them, and there may be other groups for your particular industry/state/country. Please add or remove the tasks that do not apply to you and your business. Let's begin. Note: This checklist is NOT to be used for Quarter 4 because there are additional tasks to complete in addition to those listed here. The Quarter 4 checklist should included end-of-year and new-year tasks, like IRS form W-2, 1099s, etc. Bank Accounts Tasks First, let's discuss bank account tasks. Your business probably has a checking and a savings account. Both of these accounts should be reconciled. Keeping them reconciled with your bank will help keep you on top of fraudulent transactions and issues with your account. These bank statement reconciliations should be completed at the beginning of every month, but if your business is small, you could do them quarterly. First, make sure all the transactions are downloaded from your bank into your money Visit the post for more information. #sabrinasadminservices https://lnkd.in/eAbQEswU

  • While reading Forbes magazine recently, a featured article called "The World's Billionaires." It's the 30th anniversary of their guide to the world's wealthiest people. Examining the 2,043 billionaires for this year, I found it striking how many were self-made. In the US alone,  68% of the billionaires were self-made.  These were people (men and women) who were not born wealthy.  With their brilliant ideas and focus, they could break through and succeed in reaching their goals. Now, the vast majority of these billionaires made their billions in the finance and investments sector (which is an area that screams mathematician and statistics geniuses); many of these billionaires were also in the Food and Beverage, Technology, fashion, and Retail sectors. What do all billionaires have in common? While reviewing the list, I realized they all had one thing in common: They were all visionaries. They did their research, determined what worked and didn't work, and course-corrected their business as needed, just like all of us do in our small businesses. So, why aren't we billionaires? Well, that's the million-dollar question, isn't it? Seven areas to help become a visionaryKnow your business inside and out.Rethink all areas of your business.View your business from the customer's perspective.Change up your daily routine.Brainstorm writing each day.Implement your vision.Be able to express your enthusiasm about the vision. All these successful people figured out their vision and determined the detailed steps to reach their goal. They could look at the big picture and see beyond the mindless tasks that would most definitely deter them from the goal. They were able to determine the steps to get there. And they were able to adjust their path as needed. They also asked for help through this process.  They looked beyond what was before them and changed to satisfy their needs. • How to Make Cute DIY Wood Cornices / Valances Whether you call it a wood cornice or a wood valance, it will give a window that has no frame a clean and upscale look. Today, I will show you how we made these cute DIY wood valances or cornices from scratch for our home. Follow along and make yours today! Note: these wood cornices/valances are mounted on the top of the window to hide the hardware from the blinds. They are affixed to the wall and are not easy to remove. We wanted them that way. When sharing on social media, some people felt the valance should be taller/deeper. However, with my living room /dining room situation and to allow accessibility to the mounting bracket for the blinds, we had to make it not as tall or deep as a normal wood cornice. This is the reason we had to customize this for our home. In our living room and dining room area, we Visit the blog for more details. #sabrinasorganizing https://lnkd.in/g3MZTX-v #diycornices #affordablediycornices #howtomakecornicesfromscratch
