Founded in 1937, Ryder Scott Co. evaluates oil and gas properties and independently certifies petroleum reserves throughout the world. The firm performs several hundred consulting studies each year for a variety of clients and has earned worldwide recognition for reliably predicting the performance of complex oil and gas reservoirs in all major petroleum provinces. Services include reserves evaluations, geoscience/geology studies, field development and EOR design, reservoir simulation, economic analysis, management consulting and expert witness testimony. Deborah explored the power of Self-Organizing Maps (SOMs) in improving reserve calculations and visualizing depletion. Cluster analysis using SOMs is instrumental in accurately identifying reserves by grouping similar seismic data, which results in more precise reserve estimations. Additionally, analyzing anomalous data points, particularly from post-production seismic data, is crucial for effective depletion analysis. This approach ensures a thorough understanding of data trends and enhances the reliability of reserve assessments.
