Peter Cole, MD, Chief of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at Rutgers Cancer Institute and member of RWJBarnabas Health Medical Group, shares tips on how children and teens undergoing cancer treatment can have a healthy start to a new school year. Some tips include communicating with your child’s school, seeing your pediatrician regularly, making sure vaccinations are up to date, and reminding your child about healthy habits to prevent spreading germs. Most importantly, providing a support system to your child can help them develop a sense of resiliency and security as they navigate through the school year.
