The Division of Continuing Studies (DoCS) opens Rutgers University to lifelong learners of all ages and interests. Rutgers continuing education programs reach more than 115,000 participants in more than 6,000 programs each year. DoCS also expands educational opportunities through its leadership of online learning at Rutgers.

The Rutgers Makerspace, located on the Livingston campus, is a valuable resource available at no cost to all current Rutgers faculty, staff, and students. Sponsored by the Division of Continuing Studies, this facility has an extensive array of equipment, including 3D printers, laser cutters/engravers, a fully equipped woodshop, textile machinery, and more. This space provides the Rutgers community with the opportunity to work on class projects, engage in hobbies, or ignite their entrepreneurial ambitions. Over the past academic year, the Makerspace has successfully assisted over 3,500 visitors in bringing their projects to fruition.
