Connecting patients and providers in the healthcare continuum through transportation, technology & seamless experiences.
About us
At Royal Ambulance, we are committed to connecting patients and providers in the healthcare continuum through transportation, technology, and seamless experiences. We are patient experience advocates, champions of our healthcare partners’ brands and, most importantly, empathy-driven healthcare professionals who make a real difference in the lives of the people we serve every day. To live up to that vision, we go beyond simply transferring patients safely. That’s why we developed a unique set of services that put Royal at the forefront of innovation in our space: With our Voice of the Patient Program, we capture patient experience data at touchpoints that were traditionally inaccessible to our hospital partners. As a result, we were the only healthcare transportation company to have been awarded a patient experience grant from Beryl Institute. We partner with Lyft and other non-medical transport providers to create a healthcare transportation hub that addresses all patient needs from critical care to non-emergency. And we developed technologies and tracking methods that give us and our partners insights into actionable transportation-related data. It is our strong belief that to provide quality care to patients, you must first provide quality care to your team. That's why we offer best-in-class benefits, career development opportunities, epic company outings and more. But don't just take our word for it. Look us up online. We are the best reviewed medical transportation provider in the Bay Area on Yelp, Glassdoor, Indeed and Facebook. We’ve also won countless awards, including the prestigious “Best Places to Work” award in 2018 from Modern Healthcare. If you are a healthcare executive looking to take your organization’s transportation system to the next level, please reach out. Or if you think you’ve got what it takes to join our elite team of EMS Pros, Clinicians, Salespeople, and Healthcare Executives, then check out our job postings - we're hiring.

What Burning Man Taught Us About Leadership and Collaboration At Royal Ambulance, we’re no strangers to challenging environments—but this summer, we took it to a whole new level. Our team built and operated Rampart, a full EMS system on the Playa at Burning Man. And the experience? It taught us invaluable lessons about leadership, teamwork, and adaptability. Our CEO, Steve Grau, shares insights from the journey—how we pushed beyond our limits, tackled the unknown, and grew stronger as a team. What’s the key takeaway? “Trust your people, adapt quickly, and never underestimate the power of collaboration,” says Steve. Whether you’re in healthcare or another industry, the same lessons apply: focus on your people, trust your team, and be ready to face the unknown together! #Leadership #Teamwork #Collaboration #Adaptability #BurningMan #RoyalAmbulance

We’ve been quietly working on something big… and now it’s time to share it 🚑 At Burning Man 2024, Royal Ambulance had the unique opportunity to provide medical support in a way we’ve never done before—building and operating a temporary free-standing licensed emergency medical facility in the middle of the desert! The Playa is no easy place. From the harsh environment to the 24/7 non-stop nature of the city, this experience taught us so much about resilience, adaptability, and the power of collaboration. 🌟 We’re incredibly thankful to the Burning Man Project and Burning Man ESD for welcoming us into this amazing community. The lessons we learned, and the bonds we formed, will stay with us for years to come. 🙏 A huge shoutout to our dedicated team, who worked tirelessly through every challenge with heart and professionalism. Your commitment made this possible, and we couldn’t be prouder. This experience not only pushed our team to new heights but also reinforced the importance of compassion, innovation, and teamwork in delivering high-quality care—no matter the circumstances. Today, we reflect on the courage, dedication, and sacrifice of first responders. On 9/11, they stood strong in the face of unimaginable challenges, and their example continues to guide and inspire first responders around the world. We are constantly reminded that we stand on the shoulders of giants—those who showed us what true courage looks like when it was needed most. As part of the first responder family, we’re proud to contribute to this mission and uphold the example they’ve set for us.
