  • Dr. Leeanna Clevenger, a general surgeon with Roper St. Francis Physician Partners, reflects on the women who have inspired her throughout her career in honor of Women in Medicine Month. "Some of the female trauma surgeons I’ve worked with are great role models because they have the ability to command the room in the trauma bay yet also are able to provide gentle and compassionate care, some while juggling life as a mother." 💪 #WIMMonth

  • In celebration of Women in Medicine Month, Lesley Reyes, a nurse practitioner with Roper St. Francis Physician Partners Primary Care, shares what inspired her to pursue a career in medicine. 👩⚕️ "Growing up in a Spanish-speaking home, as soon as I learned the English language, I became my parents’ translator during their doctors’ visits. As I grew older, I had to learn how to advocate for my parents due to the language barrier. I knew if I could somehow be one more provider with that understanding and background when it came to the healthcare disparities that exist, it was my duty to do just that." #WIMMonth

  • Each September, Women in Medicine Month celebrates the contributions of women in healthcare. 🩺 Rosalyn Haldeman, PA-C at Roper St. Francis Physician Partners Primary Care, explains why women's inclusion in medicine is so vital. "I believe women go through unique life stages, from puberty and pregnancy to menopause, and it's reassuring to have a healthcare provider who has experienced these things and can offer valuable insight. For a long time, I was the only female provider at our clinic. Some patients would delay sharing their concerns or postpone preventive screenings because they weren’t comfortable discussing them. It’s rewarding to know I can provide that sense of comfort for my patients." #WIMMonth
