Honored to attend the change of command ceremony for the USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) where Captain Daryle Cardone was relieved by Captain Dale Gregory, the new commanding officer. Fittingly, the ship's motto is "Peace through Strength." With gratitude for the service of our nation's sailors, I'm reminded of President Reagan's words aboard a different carrier in 1981: "It takes an extra bit of dedication to do this job. I know it's rough. It's rough on you, rough on your families, but it's never been more necessary at any time in our history than it is right now. Without someone willing to put in the long hours, willing to suffer the frustrations, willing to risk the dangers, our country wouldn't be sure of continued peace and freedom."

Our President and CEO, David Trulio, was honored to welcome Tanya Bennett, Consul-General of Australia, and her husband, Tom Menadue, to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation & Institute in Simi Valley, CA. As President Reagan himself said in 1986, "Our countries share many historical experiences: our love of democracy, our frontier heritage, and our common defense of freedom from the First and Second World Wars through Korea and Vietnam. All this has nurtured the bonds of friendship between our two peoples." We are proud to celebrate the enduring U.S.-Australia alliance—founded on shared values and mutual respect—and look forward to deepening this partnership for generations to come.

In response to a crowd of dissenters telling him "no more puppy jokes," President Ronald Reagan tells a classic story about politically biased kittens. #jokes
