Historic Vanderbilt Hall, a Beaux-Arts masterpiece located on the south side of Grand Central Terminal, provides a timeless and elegant setting for shopping and dining. Rockwell Group completed a transformation of the Hall this month with the addition of Grand Brasserie NYC a new meeting place with effortless Parisian flair. Decorative screens, lush plantings, and a variety of seating arrangements create inviting, intimate dining zones within the historic space. 📸: Scott Frances

Many thanks to Ben Spriggs & Elle Decoration UK for the wonderful piece celebrating Rockwell Group’s 40th anniversary and David Rockwell’s career thus far! From projects like Perelman Performing Arts Center (PAC NYC) and Metropolis by Marcus Samuelsson, to W New York Union Square and BATHHOUSE, our work this past year has been characterized by the same values that have shaped the last 40: curiosity, optimism, and bringing people together in new and exciting ways. We are honored that The Riviera Maya EDITION at Kanai is the cover story in the latest issue of Sleeper Magazine.
🌴 On the cover: With Mexico a thriving hotspot for new hotel development, Sleeper’s latest issue sees its Managing Editor take a deep dive into the city’s current performance and future pipeline, alongside reviews of a host of new openings. One such opening is The Riviera Maya EDITION at Kanai, where Ian Schrager Company has collaborated with Edmonds International and Rockwell Group to create a new resort that sits in harmony with Mayan civilisation and the natural world. A decade after designing the flagship location of innovative workspace collective NeueHouse, Rockwell Group returned to renovate the cellar level, reconfiguring and reprioritizing rooms based on today’s needs. Dubbed the NeueHouse Cinema, this space now features a 90-seat screening room, two open work/lounge seating areas, and an opulent concession stand with an adjacent bar lounge area. Last week, we were thrilled to see Architectural Record feature NeueHouse Cinema in their August issue. Thank you Josephine Minutillo, Matthew Marani, Joann Gonchar, FAIA, LEED AP! We are thrilled to be included in Wallpaper* magazine's USA 400 this month. Thank you Diana Budds for your story in this special issue. We are so grateful to be recognized amongst friends and collaborators defining the American creative landscape.
For the August 2024 issue of Wallpaper*, I covered the Victoria and Albert Museum's acquisition of four set models for theater productions designed by Rockwell Group. It was a pleasure to learn more about these miniature worlds and how they shape not just the set we see, but also choreography and acting. https://lnkd.in/gBeYwdFX

As part of Rockwell Group’s 40th anniversary celebrations, we created an interactive digital walking map of all the Rockwell Group projects in New York City! Illustrated by our Graphics Studio and developed by @labatrockwellgroup, the map features 60 current projects (including our office) that we’ve designed in the five boroughs and New Jersey. How many spots have you been to? Check out the Rockwell Group 2024 Walking Map in the link below! https://lnkd.in/eWgp4B-4

Thank you Kate Krader for including us in your story on restaurant bathrooms in Bloomberg News!
When you walk into COQODAQ, New York’s perennially buzzy fried-chicken-and-Champagne emporium, the first thing you see is not the gleaming arched ceiling, its golden nightclub glow or a glamorous host. It's a row of fancy sinks, outfitted with high end hand cleansers like Loewe and designed by the legendary Rockwell Group's David Rockwell. Had fun reporting this all important story that features the high design bathrooms at the new Sushi Noz outpost Chez Fifi from Lisa Grape and of course sketch London, Bacchanalia London, and the upcoming Club Flush, aka the bathroom at XANADU Roller Arts in Brooklyn outfitted with a dance floor and DJ. If only I had a good #bathroomselfie to show for it. Bloomberg News #restaurant #design #bathroom #selfie
