Our Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital Crystal Spring Tower team welcomed Elevate Construction Founder and Chief Operating Officer Jason Schroeder for a site visit, highlighting the innovations and Lean principles our team is using to complete this significant project. Jason provided the following feedback for our team: 🏗️ The project was perfectly clean, safe, and organized. 🏗️ [Senior Superintendent] Josh [Young] has the ability to connect with and care for people in a way that is unmatched in my mind. 🏗️ There was effective visual management everywhere -- it was the best I have seen. 🏗️ Everywhere I looked I could see quality at the source. 🏗️ Josh has one of the most effective and superior scheduling systems I have seen to date. We're so glad Jason was able to see all of the incredible ways our Carilion team is setting the bar for the rest of the industry!

We are devastated by the widespread destruction caused by Hurricane Helene in the Southeast. Over the past few days, we’ve been speaking with our teams, assessing needs, and trying to better understand what the coming weeks and months will bring to our communities. In these early stages of recovery, we have seen our friends and neighbors come together to help where they can, reminding us of the importance of unity. There are no words that can fully express the profound feeling of loss for so many. Our hearts are with our communities.

We’re often asked why we chose careers in construction, and while our answers may vary, they’re united by a common theme: We want to build something bigger than ourselves. We build to make a difference, shape our communities, and give our families the lives they deserve. We’re building a legacy. As we kick off Careers in Construction Month, we’ll spend October focusing on our future and the people who will help us build it. Follow along throughout the month as we celebrate and highlight all that careers in construction bring to our lives. Florida Division Manager Todd Watson kicks things off by providing his unique insight on what it means to #BeATrueBuilder. #CareersInConstructionMonth
