After a productive GIS officers’ meeting, we put on gloves, grabbed trash bags, and joined forces to clean up the UNT campus. We’re passionate about giving back to our community and university, and are always looking for ways to make a meaningful impact. University of North Texas G. Congratulations Brock Polydoroff!
This morning, I was honored as a Scholarship Recipient with the Dallas Chapter CPCU Society, and I truly couldn't be more grateful for the support. It is a huge honor to be recognized at such a wonderful event, and I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the chapter and my congratulations to my fellow recipients. It is so incredible being surrounded by CPCU-certified and aspiring industry professionals, as I am dedicated to obtaining my CPCU post-graduation. Thank you again to Catrina Gilbert for a great opening Keynote. She always brings so much energy and life to any speech I have listened to of hers from this past RMI Week, and Today was no exception! The Dallas Chapter is a great resource and I love how interactive and involved the chapter is with Risk Management and Insurance at UNT. I will continue to aspire towards my own designation in the field, as I know how truly beneficial it would be!

Happy Friday! RMI Week has officially come to a close. Today, we rode in style in a stretch Hummer limo for an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of one of the largest airports in the world, Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW). We had the chance to meet a member of the innovation team, learn about their internship opportunities, and take a shuttle tour around the airport. At their training facility, we participated in some group activities and tested out different simulators. We ended the day with a tasty boxed lunch and some official DFW swag. It was a fantastic experience! A big thank you to Catrina Gilbert and her team for their hospitality and time—we had a great time!

Today, our GIS chapter had the privilege of speaking with Keller High School DECA students. The energy was high, and we got to see some beautiful homecoming mums—in true Texas fashion! We shared how GIS can help students grow professionally and explored opportunities in Risk Management & Insurance and Actuarial Science. The students were enthusiastic and engaged—we definitely see some future Eagles coming from Keller High! Thank you, Keller High School, for giving us this opportunity! A special thanks to Karine Chalhoub and Brock Polydoroff for representing University of North Texas G. Brint Ryan College of Business and Gamma Iota Sigma so well! #untrmi #gammais #futurelooksbright

GIS had an eventful and exciting day! We started with a fun outdoor recruiting event where we shared how GIS can benefit students, while enjoying activities like giant Jenga, cornhole, raffles, and prizes. Later in the day, we took a break with a relaxing mental health hour that featured calming music, journaling, face masks, coloring, and snacks. It was a wonderful way to unwind and enjoy each other’s company. #untrmi #gammais #friendship

In what is seemingly becoming something of an annual gathering, UNT RMI Mean Green Sky Box event at UNT’s DATCU Stadium took place during the recent pillaging of the University of Tulsa by our own UNT football team winning by a score of 52 to 20. Several lucky students were joined by a handful of representatives from HUB International and Texas Mutual Insurance Company in watching the game in the comfort of HUB’s corporate suite and had a great time. Special thanks to our advisory board member Bill Jackson and Martin Yung for inviting us to the event!
