"While the U.S. has a ways to go in setting up systems that accommodate youth apprenticeships and in creating frameworks for qualifications that equate academic achievement with workplace experience, [Katie] Caves is heartened by what she sees happening in Indiana so far. 'It’s unbelievable,' Caves says. 'They’ve got hundreds of people working on this and spending real quantities of time on it.
