A lovely summer night in the heart of Boston! The Squadra Defense Tech Happy Hour took to Faneuil Hall, connecting innovators, students, researchers, investors, founders, veterans and service members! Every city has a major industry that becomes part of its identity — for Boston that has long been its universities. It’s home to internationally recognized research institutions that produce cutting-edge innovation and top tier talent. That has in turn made it a hub for startups commercializing technologies and the largest tech companies seeking to hire in a place known for engineering density. You may think of healthcare, education, SaaS, fintech and consumer tech when you think of Boston. Today, we’re also seeing how the city’s academic prowess is fueling innovation in national security. The crowd at the happy hour demonstrated the many contours of the ecosystem — from startups and investors to DoD branches like Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) and the U.S. Coast Guard, to industry leaders like Anduril Industries and BAE Systems, to policymakers and universities, represented by the Harvard Kennedy School Executive Education School of Government and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. All of these ingredients are needed and Boston has them! As the conversation flowed at the Sam Adams Boston Tap Room, DoD innovation and acquisition was a topic for all. Active duty service members are seeking access to new technologies that can provide an advantage and make their jobs more effective. Startups want to get innovations into their hands. In the bigger picture, the US faces pressure to keep out-innovating adversaries. It’s a time for education and raising awareness across all of these communities. Anything we can do to increase understanding of how the DoD prioritizes and acquires technology, from education about the SBIR program to an introduction to the right decision maker, is valuable. These small group events are where this learning takes place, through serendipitous meetings and storytelling. It was especially great to have a group from DIU at the event, which is a model on all fronts! Thanks to our own Margaret Roth for hosting the event. We were especially lucky to be joined by the ReSupply team, which has offices down the street! Special thank you to Steve Bernard and JMill (Jonathan B. Miller) for helping us get the word out! #startups #boston #defensetech #nationalsecurity #venturecapital

Earlier this week our team visited beautiful Ft. Worth, TX to attend the Goodwill Delegate Assembly where Goodwill executives from all over the country get together to collaborate. We want to extend a huge thank you to our hosts Goodwill North Central Texas and their team who worked tirelessly to pull off the event. We always appreciate the chance to shake hands with our partners and tell our story to new partners looking to grow their donations with us. The power of work through Goodwill is multi generational change so hearing more about the lives that they've impacted is another reminder of why we're so passionate to support them by making giving simple for their donors. Excited for the future! Chris Macnamara Paul Griffin Matt Hernandez Paul Tocci #givingmadesimple #thepowerofwork #delegateassembly #goodwill

It was fantastic to support a phenomenal local charity last week. Habitat for Humanity International helps build homes for people and families in need across the globe, so we are delighted that we can do our part by donating furniture that will now be put to great use! Thank you to the Resupply donation pick-up crew and our amazing Senior Vice President Brian Petralia for helping us see this through.
