We are committed to making our communities safer and healthier. In an effort to raise awareness of the dangers of prescription drug misuse and importance of safe disposal, we’re joining #HCAHealthcare hospitals across the nation for our sixth annual Crush the Crisis Prescription Drug Take Back Day. The event, which coincides with the DEAHQ's National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, offers the community an opportunity to safely and anonymously dispose of medications that may be left over from previous procedures or other medical visits. In 2023, HCA Healthcare and both Reston Hospital and Tysons Emergency joined local law enforcement at 132 collection sites across 15 states to collect and properly dispose of more than 13,000 pounds of unused or expired medications – the equivalent of an estimated 9 million doses. Support groups, facilitated by a licensed clinical social worker, are a safe place to help you create your own support network, to increase your independence through interdependence. They provide a place to talk about and manage difficult feelings, to facilitate increased self-awareness and self-compassion. Attend in-person or online. There are several Support Groups available.
