What's the difference between AI, GenAI, Deep Learning, Maching Learning, LLMs, Deep Fakes, etc.? If you're not techie and want a clear and concise overview, check out this 10 minute overview by expert Jeff Crume, PhD, CISSP of IBM https://lnkd.in/ekxWUzq6 Often times we start talking about things based on the limited knowledge we have, without really understanding the foundations of what we're actually talking about. #ArtificialIntelligence is probably the biggest place where this happens these days. So many people out there posing and talking as if they actually understand what #AI is, without having this foundational understanding of the difference between things like #GenAI and #MachineLearning and an #LLM. Understanding how Generative AI actually works is incredibly important for users of GenAI. Jeff Talks about the analogy of music and GenAI, which is very interesting. Spinning on this analogy, you can certainly make music (use AI) without learning music theory. Or, you can learn how music works (music theory, reading symbolic notations of sheet music, etc.) and open up entirely new realms of learning, collaboration and communication in the space of music. Just wanted to share this excellent video. I'm curious to hear what you take away from this...did you learn anything new? Do you have any new perspectives or 'aha' moments about AI in general? reshift, Steven Bosak, Manfred Gollent, Bre Przestrzelski, Ezequiel Williams

𝐈𝐭'𝐬 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧 and it can be both energizing and overwhelming. After all, summer in the Northern Hemisphere is slowly fading, vacations are wrapping up and kids are going back to school. The end of year flurry is upon us! For most organizations this means thinking forward to 2025 and beyond. This is when we engage in that 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞, beyond our current project timelines and into that space where there is considerable uncertainty. If you are looking for a 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐚 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐲 𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭. This is a collaborative and accelerated approach to developing your team's strategy or strategic inputs. It can be done at the team, department or whole-of-organization level and it takes 3 weeks. 𝑺𝒐 𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒅𝒐𝒆𝒔 𝒂 𝑺𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒈𝒊𝒄 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑺𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒕 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒌? 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 1: 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 Assemble team, review current plans state, conduct market analysis, research challenges and opportunities. 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 2: 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐲 𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 Interview stakeholders, identify themes and priorities, vision workshop, strategy development workshop. 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 3: 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 & 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 Gather feedback, refine, develop OKRs and timelines, develop comms, present to key stakeholders and finalize plan. The 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐲 𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐝 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬. It's adaptable for organizations of all sizes and provides a framework for efficient, inclusive strategy development that addresses current challenges and future opportunities. Can you do this? Absolutely. Any team can do a 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐲 𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐭'𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭, 𝐨𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦, as input to the org strategy. You'll need to rally multiple stakeholders within the organzation, and most likely you'll need external help coordinating and facilitating the work. The benefits are a 𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫, 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 that can set a refreshed path for the future of your team, founded in reality and created through broad collaboration. #StrategicPlanning #Collaboration #GrowthStrategy #CoCreation reshift, Steven Bosak, Dana “DeltaDana” Akins-Adeyemi, MSME, Bre Przestrzelski, Manfred Gollent, Executive Coach and Thinking Partner, Ezequiel Williams

𝐖𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐨-𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, you just may not have called it that. At reshift, we take a co-creative approach to most of what we do and we captured the basics in our 𝐂𝐨-𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐤𝐢𝐭 (yours for free, 𝘴𝘦𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘪𝘯 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴). This toolkit takes you through four steps to prepare to use co-creation in your project: 🤔 STEP 1: DECIDE IF CO-CREATION IS APPROPRIATE Consider the pros and cons of co-creation and decide if it is the right approach. 🖼 STEP 2: FRAME THE CHALLENGE Create a challenge statement to use as the initial focus for the project. 🤼 STEP 3: ENGAGE KEY STAKEHOLDERS & PARTICIPANTS Define the key people to engage in planning and who to invite to participate. 🗒 STEP 4: PREPARE FOR YOUR CO-CREATION SESSION Plan for the physical elements and materials needed for a successful co-creation session. In addition to helping team leaders or those wanting to use a co-creation approach in their projects, we created this 𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐤𝐢𝐭 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐨-𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐢𝐭 𝐦𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤. Think of a 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐝𝐞𝐯 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝 who may not be familiar with the term and 𝐰𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 to using a collaborative approach at any given stage of your project. We hope this toolkit is helpful and would love to hear your thoughts. I would be happy to discuss any questions or comments you have about co-creation here or one-on-one (just DM me for 1-1). #CCcreation #CoDesign #Innovation #DesignThinking #HumanCenteredDesign

#CoCreation is a powerful and proven way to tap into the 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬. But, where do you start? We created a handy 𝐂𝐨-𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐤𝐢𝐭 to answer just that question. It's a partner to our recent blog post Unlocking the Power of Collaboration with Co-creation and Facilitation https://lnkd.in/ePuTrYBB, and you can download the toolkit here https://lnkd.in/gqTkQ7kU This guide is designed to help you 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐢𝐟 𝐜𝐨-𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 and walks you through the critical 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐩𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐜𝐨-𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧. It includes a decision 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐜𝐤𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭, 𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐝𝐬 to help you plan how to use a co-creative approach within your project. We designed the toolkit so you can 𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦 and pass it on to 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐤𝐞𝐲 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐬𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐨-𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞. We hope you find this toolkit useful. Co-creation can be an incredibly effective way to solve complex challenges and find innovative solutions. But, it does come with its own investment and potential downsides. If you need experienced help with your co-creation project, reach out to us at [email protected]. reshift, Ezequiel Williams, Steven Bosak

If you want to know 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐭'𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐨-𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞, watch Peter Jackson's incredible documentary Get Back about the making of the Beatles' last album, Let It Be. https://lnkd.in/g-8Bskhi Even with one of the greatest bands ever, 𝐜𝐨-𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐛𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐲 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭. In this three-part documentary you can watch the slow, 𝐦𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 of a team of incredibly talented humans come together to make brilliant music. ❌ They 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞. ❌ They 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 and were barely able to stay together. ❌ They had to get 𝐥𝐨𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩. ❌ 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 not on their core team 𝐤𝐞𝐩𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐮𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠. ❌ 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐭. The team rallied and got him back on board. ❌ There was 𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦. Ultimately, the 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩 𝐰𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐲, 𝐬𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐥𝐲 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 and drew on the unique creative talents of each band member, all their recording crew, the staff, their families and even the fans to create an amazing body of music. What you see in this documentary is 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐫𝐚𝐰 𝐢𝐧 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮. It's worth watching for inspiration. It's worth watching because it shows that, 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐦𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐠𝐠𝐥𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐨-𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐠𝐠𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐭 and it can be a long and winding road, but you'll get there! Whether you're meeting in-person or virtual, 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 '𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞' 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠. The space you choose should 𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐭𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠. Last week we ran a multi-day co-creation workshop for a client. It was held in a church sanctuary, full of 𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭, 𝐰𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚 𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐠𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐝𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐲𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐧. The workshop was about the climate crisis. It was appropriate to have light, ample space and a 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 outside. We invited groups to take their work outdoors, own the space, make it their own. And they did. As facilitators, we also drew the large group outside to circle up for a post-lunch 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐛𝐲 𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐬𝐞𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐫𝐬 before starting back at our work. Contrast this to how we create the space for an online convening. While limited, we create a space in Miro or Mural in what we call the 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐥. Everyone is asked to go to the space a day or so before we convene and add their 𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐞, 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐬, 𝐚 𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚 𝐟𝐮𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐭 like their favorite song growing up. While the virtual space is much more challenging, we just kicked off a project using this technique and it really helped the team 𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐚 𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐦 𝐨𝐟 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐞 for how we will engage together in the virtual space. Regardless of where you meet, if you're convening people don't neglect the importance of the space you're using for the gathering. 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚 𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐮𝐝𝐠𝐞𝐭 and even if you're physical space is bland, 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 '𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚 𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞 𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞' 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐤. Even small gestures like the welcome wall or activities where you pause, circle participants up so everyone sees one another - 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐬𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬. #CoCreation #WorkshopDesign #TheArtOfGathering #DesignThinking #HumanCenteredDesign reshift, Steven Bosak, Ezequiel Williams

Raise your hand if you'd 𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 @𝐓𝐒𝐀 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞. The 𝐔𝐒 𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐬 - and, I have to restrain myself here - 𝐚𝐛𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐨𝐮𝐬! So, would you VOLUNTEER to participate in an experience design workshop to improve the TSA experience? I daresay, 𝐚 𝐜𝐨-𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, AND, make the whole 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐅𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐏𝐄𝐑 (in all sorts of ways) for the US government to run. WHAT I SAW TODAY GOING THROUGH TAMPA AIRPORT WAS SIMPLY DUMBFOUNDING: 🐍 Typical serpentine to get to ID screening was ok, but even that could be improved (when there are 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐚 𝐟𝐞𝐰 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 waiting, 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐝𝐨 𝐰𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞?) ✅ The 𝐈𝐃 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐜𝐤 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝. They used facial recognition and a driver's license scanner, and it was quick and efficient. 🍼 I was in line behind a young family with an infant and a toddler. Watching them put all their stuff in a dozen scanner trays was painful. It also took a lot of time and created a bottleneck. 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬𝐧'𝐭 𝐓𝐒𝐀 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞? 👜 Putting your stuff in scanner trays is different at every airport. Why? I'm sure there are reasons, but this 𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐥 𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐞. TSA staff have to literally yell these instructions to people in line. How dumb! ♿ There was a line of people in wheelchairs waiting to go through the landside-airside screening. The family with their baby buggy got through before them and the 𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐤𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 for...I guess TSA to free up someone to help them through screening. 🔎 There was 𝐧𝐨 𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 for where people merge into the body scanners or metal detectors. Just follow the person in front of you? Not as clear as that, actually. ⛔ On the 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐲 𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫, 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐩𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐮𝐩 behind the family stopping the entire line of people behind us. People put their shoes on and gather their things from where their tray is, further delaying the line. 👎 Finally, a humiliated woman was being intimately body frisked right at the end of the line, in front of everyone. I was embarrassed for her. The 𝐰𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐮𝐠𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞 & 𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐲 𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬. There is no real design here, it's just a process with no consideration for the people involved. reshift, Steven Bosak, Ezequiel Williams, Transportation Security Administration (TSA)

It’s been a true pleasure working with my new friends and colleagues this weekend at the #VeteransHealth #MITHackingMedicine 2024 here in Tampa. It has been a super cool experience working with these excellent people both on my team and all 280 participants who were developing solutions for three themes: - Hire faster and more competitively [our theme] - Connect Veterans to the soonest and best care, - Prevent Veteran Suicide (Mental Health). Thanks to my teammates Michelle Schlesinger, OTR/L, Sarah Davis, Dr. Mismide Joseph, DHA, MBA, BSN, RN, Ben Salatin, Eileen Owens, Dr. Susan M. Parda-Watters. Y’all rock! Our low-code solution will save VA $78 million and improve user experience for candidates, hiring managers, HR staff and Leadership by making the process visible, accessible and improving communications between stakeholders. Pretty darn cool for 2 days hacking work! Well done team!!
