ANNUAL REMINDER: HOME MAINTENANCE TIPS FOR FALL It’s time to get your fall maintenance and service appointments scheduled. Getting services confirmed NOW will keep you at the front of the line and you don't risk running into colder weather and the first frost. There are many things you can do to ensure your property is ready for fall and winter, but here are five items we recommend you invest in annually. CLEAN YOUR GUTTERS Getting your gutters cleaned and serviced will ensure that your system flows smoothly and you minimize the risk of clogging and water backups. SERVICE THE FURNACE Having a professional inspect and service your furnace will leave you with peace of mind that filters, belts and thermostat are in good shape for heating season. CHECK YOUR SMOKE AND CO DETECTORS We recommend using fall as a reminder to check your detectors, clean out any collected dust and replace batteries. Also, check your fire extinguisher to confirm that it's current (it should be replaced every six years). INSPECT YOUR ROOF In addition to cleaning your gutters, schedule an annual roof inspection to make sure there are no leaks, cracked ridge shingles or wind damage. AERATE YOUR LAWN Fall is the time for aeration, overseeding and proper fertilization. The stress of the summer heat and increased usage has compacted your soil and proper aeration will allow your root system to grow deep and better bounce back from winter dormancy. Remedics.com

On behalf of our entire Remedics family, we want to wish you and yours a wonderful 4th of July celebration! Have fun, eat good, and stay safe! INDEPENDENCE DAY - DID YOU KNOW One World Trade Center (aka the Freedom Tower) in lower Manhattan is 1,776 feet tall to mark the year the U.S. declared its independence from Britain. The 50th star was added to the American flag on July 4, 1960, symbolizing Hawaii's admission as the 50th state. Americans typically eat a total of 150 million hot dogs on Independence Day, enough to stretch from D.C. to L.A. more than five times. The amount of pizza consumed is unknown... Philadelphia held the very first annual commemoration of independence on July 4, 1777, while Congress was still occupied with the ongoing war. One U.S. president was actually born on the 4th of July. America's 30th president, Calvin Coolidge, was born on July 4th, 1872.

With summer here, this is our annual reminder to make sure you take proper care of your A/C units ahead of the heat that the dog days of summer bring. Here are four tips to keep your A/C humming all summer long. 1. SCHEDULE YOUR ANNUAL MAINTENANCE SERVICE If you don't service your own HVAC system, this is the most crucial step you can take to ensure a healthy, well-running system. 2. CLEAN ANY DEBRIS AROUND YOUR UNITS If your HVAC units are obstructed, it restricts airflow and forces them to work harder than they need to, which in turn can cause a decrease in efficiency and eventual mechanical failure. 3. ADJUST THE THERMOSTAT There is no need to run your units at the same temperature all day. It not only puts a strain on your system, but will also drive up your energy bills. If you head out of town, adjust your thermostat accordingly. 4. CHANGE THE AIR FILTER Changing your filters on a regular basis is essential to maintaining clean air in your home and keep your system free from dust and particles. #Summer #SummerHeat #Restoration #Remedics #StayCool

LOVE seeing these in the morning! 🙏 "Remedics did right by us!! We had a flooding incident at our house. The company who we first called (I wont give their name) for restoration weren’t playing nice with our insurance company. So the insurance company referred us to Remedics. These guys are thorough professionals! They worked with the insurance company on the estimates, & got it approved. Rob Brason was our project manager and he has been awesome right from day 1. He kept us in the loop with everything and made sure all the materials were ordered on time and the work was done right. He coordinated with all the subcontractors (flooring, drywall/painting, plumbing) and made sure everything moved along per schedule. Shout out to Holly as well who helped coordinate the pack-out/pack-in. She knows what she’s doing! Remedics have been amazing through everything and also very cooperative working with our schedule! Do not hesitate to call them for any home remediation & restoration work." - Dilip Nair #Grateful

SOLAR ECLIPSE - Will you be watching? If so, here are five interesting facts to share with your fellow onlookers. FACT #1 THIS WILL BE THE FIRST TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE IN THE CONTINENTAL U.S. IN 7 YEARS - The last one occurred August 21, 2017. Before that one, it was February 26, 1979. And it will be 20 years until the next one, on August 23, 2044. FACT #2 A SOLAR ECLIPSE OCCURS WHEN THE SUN, THE MOON, AND EARTH ARE ALIGNED, OR IN SYZYGY - The Moon, directly between the Sun and Earth, casts a shadow on our planet. If you’re in the dark part of that shadow (the umbra), you’ll see a total eclipse. If you’re in the light part (the penumbra), you’ll see a partial eclipse. FACT#3 IT’S ALL ABOUT TOTALITY - Not to cast a shadow on things, but likening a partial eclipse to a total eclipse is like comparing near-death to death. Only totality reveals the true celestial spectacle: the diamond ring, the Sun’s glorious corona, strange colors in our sky, and seeing stars in the daytime. FACT #4 TOTALITY LASTS A MAXIMUM OF 4 MINUTES 28 SECONDS - That’s it, regardless of how long it seems and you likely will only see the total eclipse for a few seconds depending on where you are located. FACT #5 EVERYONE IN THE CONTINENTAL U.S. WILL SEE AT LEAST A PARTIAL ECLIPSE - In fact, if you have clear skies on eclipse day, the Moon will cover at least 16 percent of the Sun’s surface for you.
