“It is Time to Prioritize Mental Health in the Workplace” is the theme for 2024 World Mental Health Day. This theme underscores the critical importance of mental health in professional settings, aligning with the founding principles of WFMH established in 1948. The campaign is dedicated to advocating for mental health within the workplace. Our objective is to engage a global audience - including employees, employers, organizations, and stakeholders - in grassroots advocacy to promote mental well-being at work. We aim to highlight the essential role of mental health in professional environments, advocating for workplaces where mental health is prioritized, protected, and promoted.

During October we support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. A worldwide annual campaign involving thousands of organizations, to highlight the importance of breast awareness, education, and research. 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. But when breast cancer is detected in the earliest stages, the 5-year relative survival rate is 99%. That means women must take action to care for their health through regular exams, screenings, and mammograms. This week, help us spread the word about the importance of early detection with the women in your life. #RISEforBCAM

In May of 2013, Darci suffered a traumatic brain injury from an accident resulting in increased tone throughout her body affecting her balance, strength, and ambulation, as well as affecting her memory, attention, and speech. Darci’s main goal in physical therapy is to improve her walking and ambulation which has proved difficult with only use of a walker. Our clinic recently purchased a new Neurogym Bungee Trainer that led Darci to increased independence and motivation. Currently, when Darci uses the Neurogym she is also able to stand for games like playing pass with the soccer ball, tossing a ball back and forth, or playing board games with her peers. Darci enjoys using the Neurogym and now says she is motivated for her physical therapy sessions knowing she can spend more time standing.
