Bitcoin’s recent surge has renewed investors' interest in cryptocurrency. However, as our Chief Investment Officer Nathan Hoyt, CFP® tells InvestmentNews, this performance likely stems from the U.S. government’s continued stance on cutting interest rates amid rising debt and deficits, fueling inflation and currency devaluation. Regarding investor demand for these assets, Nathan notes that “some clients are taking advantage of the price volatility of Bitcoin in both directions, but the vast majority of clients continue to avoid owning it as it remains speculative and with large price swings.” In our view, we remain neutral on Bitcoin as an investment and buy, sell or hold in line with the personal long-term goals of the individuals and families we serve. https://lnkd.in/e7x2nYvv

The threat of financial fraud is becoming a bigger threat as we enter an ever-evolving digital world. That leaves a looming question: how can advisors help combat this? In a recent Wealth Solutions Report article, our Associate Wealth Advisor Elias John Crist, CFP® highlights alarming data that showed Americans have reported over $10 billion in fraud-related losses in 2023 alone – a drastic 14% increase since 2022. In his piece, Elias offers fraud prevention strategies such as complex passwords, enabling dual-factor authentication, freezing credit and more.
