Meet our IO Bispecifics team: one of our groups who’s changing the way we think about drug development. Using nature as inspiration, they apply their protein engineering skills to design novel antibody formats and geometries. Generally speaking, they identify opportunities in treatment programs with traditional antibodies and ask the question: How can we make it better?    Why we love the IO Bispecifics team: They’re serious about their science and they’re serious about their dessert. Cake is a favorite for celebrations, potlucks and when team members return from their travels. It’s also common practice for the social committee to plan team bonding activities to make sure they’re collaborating both in and outside of work.

Building community at Regeneron can take on so many forms—including our very own Pickleball Club. George Ehrlich, Principal Scientist and captain of the Pickleball Club, says, “We created the club to promote pickleball as an outlet for better health and well-being and a way for Regeneron colleagues to connect.” The club holds open play at our courts on campus year-round and is a great way to meet colleagues from across the organization. Competition is friendly, and all levels are welcome. Let us know your go-to activity to connect with colleagues in the comments.

Fresh off participating in the amateur athlete marathon race at the Olympics, Peter Belmar is a colleague who is passionate about his career and more. Peter was one of 20,000 participants from around the world selected to run an after-hours race between official Olympic marathons.   To earn a bib for the Olympic race, Peter had to accumulate 100,000 points by completing a series of running challenges in 2023.   As a Senior IT Operations Analyst, Peter maintains the computers and instruments in our labs. In his off hours, he’s passionate about health and fitness and being a community champion. He owns a Martial Arts gym, runs a nonprofit fitness organization and is a team captain in the Regeneron Running Club. Peter says, "My goal, no matter what, is to love what I’m doing, whether that’s athletics or supporting operating systems so scientists can do their critical work.” Join us in congratulating Peter in the comments below!

When Kaylee Park joined the Corporate Affairs team as an intern this summer, she was hoping her projects would be both meaningful and impactful. She was able to realize those goals right from the start by joining Regeneron's Let’s Get Real About Skin Cancer booth at the Iowa Speedway, where the team engaged with over 8,000 people and distributed 5,000 sun protection kits. "Not only did we raise awareness about certain types of advanced non-melanoma skin cancer, like basal cell carcinoma and cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma, and share important information about skin health, but we were also able to connect with real patients and hear their stories," says Kaylee. Well done, Kaylee! 👏
