Regeneration.VC is thrilled to announce an anchor LP Fund 2 commitment from Dutch sovereign fund Invest-NL. A global leader in the circular economy transition, the Netherlands established a bold commitment to zero waste by 2050. The nation hopes to deliver that promise through an exceptional ecosystem of founders and mission-driven capital partners. Invest-NL has proven itself a true champion of the circularity agenda across direct, indirect, and project finance investment activities. Last Thursday, the Regeneration.VC team gathered in Amsterdam alongside an esteemed group of leaders across the European financial sector. A highlight of the evening was a closing speech from Invest-NL CEO Rinke Zonneveld, announcing our partnership and plans for ongoing collaboration on our shared mission. “Through our investment in Regeneration Fund II, we acknowledge the pivotal role that innovative startups play in addressing climate change. This is a unique opportunity to attract new foreign capital to the Netherlands and offer international growth potential to startups. We are excited to collaborate with Regeneration.VC and its impressive network to advance circular consumer industries,” shared Tim van Vledder, Senior Investment Manager at Invest-NL. As the group’s first fund investment outside of EU borders, this decision demonstrates true conviction and appreciation for the global potential of #consumerclimatetech. Through ongoing collaboration, Regeneration.VC deepens its European connectivity, and InvestNL adds a US-based fund partner dedicated to supporting the commercialization of Dutch innovation in North American markets. “We are thrilled with our Invest-NL partnership. The Netherlands is rapidly solidifying its position as a world-leading epicenter of circular innovation, and Invest-NL plays a key role through funding, deep connectivity, and market expertise. We look forward to working with the Invest-NL team to invest in exceptional Dutch circular entrepreneurs and help them bridge Europe with North America,” shared Regeneration.VC Co-Founder and General Partner Michael Smith. Our very first company investment in Regeneration.VC, CleanO2 Carbon Capture Technologies, has been featured in The Economist’s online magazine as part of their Open Atlas: Building Green Factories of the Future project. This article tells quite the story of CleanO2 Carbon Capture Technologies from its humble beginnings to today, where Choice Hotels International, one of the largest lodging franchisors in the world, received the first “World’s Leading Sustainable Technology 2024” award by the World Sustainable Travel & Hospitality Awards as the first hotel company in the world to equip one of its hotels with CleanO2 CarbinX. (Link in comments) CleanO2 Carbon Capture Technologies's journey began with a spark of curiosity. Founder Jaeson Cardiff, a former plumber and heating system mechanic, questioned why building heating systems were overlooked in emission reduction efforts. With seed money from a local angel investor and mentorship from the University of Toronto's Creative Destruction Lab, Cardiff transformed his insight into a game-changing enterprise. Today, the system is used by hotels, schools, and other commercial and public buildings across Canada, the United States, and Japan. From Calgary workshops to global recognition, their groundbreaking CarbinX technology is revolutionizing the HVAC industry, turning pesky emissions into valuable resources. They're not just dreaming of a sustainable future – they're engineering it, one exhaust system at a time. At Regeneration.VC, we are very proud of CleanO2 Carbon Capture Technologies O2 and Jaeson Cardiff. They're showing the world that with the right tech, we can have cleaner air...and soaps!! Ruminant BioTech Secures Triple Funding Boost! Onto tackling the largest source of livestock emissions. The company has received follow-on investments from AgriZeroNZ (NZ$4M, initial NZD $1.8M in 2023) and New Zealand Green Investment Finance (NZ$2M, initial NZD $2.5M in 2023), while also receiving an AU$3.5M grant under Australia's MERiL program. The funding is set to supercharge the development and commercialization of Ruminant BioTech's revolutionary methane-inhibiting bolus. 🔎Here's the reality: Livestock production contributes to 11+% of global greenhouse emissions, and is considered the 2nd-largest contributor to global emissions, after fossil fuels. ❗What is crazy about this…is that cows’ enteric fermentation (aka cow burps) accounts for 40% of livestock emissions, translating to something like 4-7% of global GHG emissions. Ruminant BioTech uses a bolus to deliver methane knockdown over many months and is currently the most viable option for grazing cattle, posting a 75% daily methane reduction in cattle for 120 days from a single treatment of their bolus capsule!! With 36% of New Zealand's greenhouse gas emissions originating from dairy, beef cattle and sheep, the nation is accelerating its push toward agricultural decarbonization through significant public and private sector investments. At the forefront of this initiative is AgriZeroNZ, a 50/50 public-private venture partnership with Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI)’ $400 million program to advance emissions-reducing research. Notably, their first joint investment alongside MPI was in Ruminant BioTech, underscoring the company's potential to transform sustainable agriculture. New Zealand Green Investment Finance (NZGIF), the country's dedicated green investment bank, continues its mission of facilitating low-carbon initiatives through strategic investments. Both organizations, alongside Australia's Methane Emissions Reduction in Livestock (MERiL) program, are backing innovative solutions to address agricultural emissions, and represent a vote of confidence from the NZ and Australian government in Ruminant BioTech’s innovative approach. Ruminant BioTech is also working with the MPI on full product registration to enable the methane-inhibiting bolus to be used on New Zealand farms. Additionally, the Australian grant will support crucial development work, including controlled cattle trials at the University of Sydney and commercial cattle backgrounding operations. Ahead of the upcoming Series A round, this funding will accelerate product development and commercialization, bringing the groundbreaking solution closer to farmers worldwide. At Regeneration.VC, we're proud to have led the Seed round in Ruminant BioTech and we're excited to continue supporting the company on their journey to revolutionize livestock farming and contribute to a more sustainable future for our planet.

🇬🇧London Calling🇬🇧 Jamie Rowles has joined our team as Partner and establishes our official UK presence! 🚀 Jamie has been a close collaborator and co-investor to Regeneration.VC since our launch, and brings a successful track record in early stage impact investing alongside a depth of experience in the UK climate ecosystem. Jamie designed and launched one of the earliest impact funds aligning against a circularity-driven approach with Sky and more recently has supported the expansion of a range of climate work in Founders Forum Group. Regeneration.VC has long viewed the UK as a leader in circularity and is the country where we have our second most investments outside the US, including Greyparrot, Colorifix, Matter. and PANGAIA. Our most recent Fund 2 investment, Cambridge based Neutreeno is also UK based. In addition to last week's announcement as an Official Nominator to The Earthshot Prize, get ready for a lot more announcements to come from the United Kingdom for Regeneration.VC! Michael Smith, GP and Co-founder of Regeneration.VC: “We are thrilled to have such an experienced investor on board with deep expertise and great network in the UK and beyond. We have wanted to work with Jamie since we began investing together over four years ago and are delighted he is finally joining our team.” Jamie Rowles: “Regeneration.VC has built a great platform around a bold and differentiated investment thesis about how we can drive change in some of the most complex sectors of our economy that are radically overlooked by most. Importantly also, I’ve seen first hand their work with co-investments in companies like Matter. and Greyparrot and the impact they have had on these UK companies as a team of former operators. I’m excited to build on this platform and support more great founders.” #Regeneration #Circulareconomy #team

We're thrilled to announce Arrive Recommerce's newest partnerships with JD Sports Fashion and Two Boxes. These collaborations are set to unlock the huge potential of recommence in the retail and fashion ecosystem. 🏀 With JD Sports Fashion, Arrive introduces ReJD - a pioneering platform poised to disrupt the footwear industry. ReJD is one of the few aftermarket platforms owned by a retailer as opposed to a sneaker brand, which means that the selection is much more broad. This groundbreaking initiative brings coveted, premium sneakers from iconic brands like Nike, adidas, and New Balance into the recommerce arena, fusing high fashion with sustainability in ways never before seen. 📦 The Two Boxes partnership is a game-changer for the retail ecosystem. This solution allows Two Boxes to quickly and easily deploy a new way for merchants to optimize their returned inventory. It benefits every stakeholder in the chain: merchants gain a leading recommerce option, 3PL partners can offer enhanced services and new revenue streams, and retailers can streamline their returns operations. The result? A win for businesses, consumers, and most importantly, our planet 🌎
