Excited to share that the Refugee Investment Network (RIN) and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) are driving private sector involvement in refugee economic inclusion across Ethiopia, Uganda, and Kenya! Through workshops and consultations, RIN and IGAD have brought together private sector actors, government officials, and NGOs to identify investment opportunities and challenges in refugee-hosting areas. The result? Co-created Policy Action Roadmaps for each country, outlining strategies to boost private sector engagement and improve the economic landscape for refugees and host communities. I had a terrific few days in Jordan with Refugee Investment Network last week and witnessed firsthand what I already knew: the potential of the local private sector - from manufacturing to agriculture - in inclusive development and the vibrant #impactinvesting and #entrepreneurship ecosystem, especially as powered by women, technology, sustainability, and the creative sector. A personal highlight was visiting a SEP store, a #refugeelens brand I've been following for years. More to come soon...many thanks in the meantime for everyone's hospitality!
