Read Aloud Delaware's mission is to create a life-long impact through early childhood literacy. Our volunteers share our mission daily at more than 100 reading sites across Delaware. Each reading encounter introduces children ages 1 to 5 years old to the world of literacy and sparks the desire to become lifelong readers.

Yesterday, our Bilingual Outreach Coordinator, Maydelis Gomez-Samon, was naturalized as a U.S. citizen! We are so grateful to have Maydelis as part of our team, as she is doing amazing work helping Hispanic families with kids enhance the talk and literacy environment in their homes. Maydelis said, 'Without losing my Cuban roots, I am thriving in the country where my daughters were born and where I was reborn. Thank you, America, for allowing me to be part of this land of liberty and now a fellow citizen.'"
Yesterday, WSFS Bank volunteers rocked with us in all three counties! They helped us prep for our upcoming mailing and still made time for some serious reading. Envelope stuffing AND storytime - many thanks to our multitasking heroes!

Since starting LENA Start in October 2020, we have served over 200 families who have made considerable gains in the literacy and talk environment in their households.
