Two weeks ago we hosted our inaugural Books Build Better Brains Benefit at the Building for Kids Children's Museum. New and old friends gathered for fun, games, and food. All the while raising funds for the children of Wisconsin. What an amazing night it was.

We were able to honor Senator Joan Ballweg with the inaugural Reach Out and Read Honor Roll award last Thursday at the State Capital. The Honor Roll recognizes those from across the country whose support of Reach Out and Read has played a critical role in advancing our mission. Senator Joan Ballweg has advocated for Reach Out and Read Wisconsin for years. Because of her persistence, the program is now receiving state funding. We were able to honor Advisory Council member and Wisconsin's Former First Lady Jessica Doyle with the inaugural Reach Out and Read Wisconsin Impact Award at our 2024 Annual Meeting. Jessica has shown unwavering dedication and support, not only to children and families across Wisconsin, but also to the ROR WI Advisory Council and our incredible team. We were able to celebrate and recognize Roots & Wings with the inaugural Reach Out and Read Honor Roll award yesterday at the UW Health Northport Clinic in Madison. The Honor Roll recognizes those from across the country whose support of Reach Out and Read has played a critical role in advancing our mission. Roots & Wings has been a longtime supporter of Reach Out and Read Wisconsin, including a gift of $1.8 million that allowed the Affiliate to grow from just three people on staff to 10.
