Partner William Spiegel Leads New York Trial Team to a Decisive Defense Verdict for Oral Surgeon Client New York, NY (August 12, 2024) – Rawle & Henderson’s Dental Professional Liability practice group, led by partner William (Bill) Spiegel, obtained a decisive defense verdict for their oral surgeon client in Bronx County, New York. After a 6-day trial, the jury deliberated for only 15 minutes to decide all counts in favor of Rawle’s client! The plaintiff asked for $1 Million in damages…and got zero $$. Bill was ably assisted by Of Counsel Elisa Karnis. And paralegal Lissette Lopez, secretary Joselyn Lopez and summer legal intern Reina Lau provided incredible trial support. https://lnkd.in/eRPShQFe About Rawle & Henderson LLP: Founded in 1783, Rawle & Henderson has been recognized by the American Bar Association as the oldest law firm in continuous practice in the United States. Zachary Rubinich Obtains Dismissal of Workers’ Compensation Claim in Pennsylvania Zachary M. Rubinich, a Partner in Rawle & Henderson’s Philadelphia office, successfully defended a workers’ compensation claim after discovering and presenting evidence that the employee’s claimed injury was not work-related. During the discovery process, Mr. Rubinich uncovered a hospital Emergency Room physician’s note indicating that employee’s ankle injury was not a work-related injury. Mr. Rubinich’s argument that the employee changed her story regarding the alleged date of injury and alleged mechanism of injury was found persuasive by the Judge. Perhaps most importantly, the Judge relied upon surveillance videotape evidence of the employee walking for an extended period, standing, driving and climbing up and down stairs without any difficulty or distress, which directly contradicted the employee’s testimony of alleged ongoing disability from the ankle injury. https://lnkd.in/e2JkGMrK
