  • A final look at one of our recent Construction Inspection and Environmental projects 👷🏞️     RE&LS is excited to announce the completion of our efforts to enhance emergent wetlands at the Northern Montezuma Wildlife Management Area in Wayne and Cayuga Counties in New York. Throughout this process, Our environmental and construction inspection teams partnered with the New York Power Authority , New York State Canal Corporation, and the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation to convert this area of flat, relatively dry marsh to one with channels, pools, and mounds, so that it can support a greater variety of wetland plants and animals and provide more recreational opportunities.      In total, five separate sites throughout Montezuma were constructed which have already shown signs of regrowth. Further vegetation is expected after seed cycling takes place over the winter months. Wildlife has already started to respond in these areas due to improvements to the hydrology. The enhancement sites will continue to transition over the next 2-3 years and will support a wide variety of wetland-dependent wildlife as the plant communities develop. The next few weeks will conclude the work taking place on site so we want to extend our gratitude toward the people who helped make this project a success. Thank you to the New York Power Authority, New York State Canal Corp, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, Michels Corporation, Landmark Archeology, Inc., and Chase Enterprises for all of your hard work on this wetland enhancement!     #montezuma #wetlandenhancement #muskrathabitat

  • Last week our firm co-hosted a Project Appreciation Party at the Genesee Brew House for the crews of the Pont De Rennes Bridge rehabilitation. 🌉 🍺 This bridge, located next to the Brew House over the Genesee River, has been under construction since last year and is currently being rehabilitated in a collaborative effort by RE&LS, Cold Spring Construction, LaBella Associates, Lu Engineers, Kubit Engineering, PLLC, Vanguard Engineering PC, Patriot Design & Consulting, PLLC, and City of Rochester. The goal of our work has been to revitalize the bridge by inspecting, replacing, and repairing old steel members, replacement of the concrete deck, and adding a more dynamic walking space for pedestrians who utilize the bridge on their daily commute. Thanks to everyone who came out to celebrate with us as we near the end of our work on this project! #pontderennes #cityofRochester #roctheriverway

  • Finally getting out of the water with our new bridge on Fargo Road! 👷🌧️ This summer has been unbelievably rainy, and for projects like the Fargo Road Bridge, that means fighting the elements in order to get the job done. So far, our team has fought the floods off long enough to establish the foundation, place sub footers/footers, and secure the stem walls and wing walls in place. Last week, our Construction Inspection and Transportation teams oversaw the installation of the pre-cast concrete span units as well. Follow along for more updates on this project. 🌉

  • Did you know that August is National Water Quality Month?🚰💧    Earlier this month, RE&LS helped the City of Rochester break ground on it's next phase of lead service line replacements. The EFC and EPA have provided $3M worth of funding directly aimed at this initiative which will replace lead and galvanized water service lines across the city, increasing the health and safety of our drinking water.    Rochester is among some of the first cities in the process of revitalizing their water line infrastructure. As of right now, the city is well on their way to exceeding the ambitious goal of being lead free by 2030. Our teams are hard at work providing Construction Inspection services to ensure that this project meets all objectives in the safest, most efficient way possible.   For more information on this project, visit: https://lnkd.in/g5utUemM    To report lead service lines, visit: https://lnkd.in/g_7r6bqx    #constructioninspection #gettheleadout
