Today and every day, let's remember to prioritize your mental well-being, seek support when needed and break the stigma surrounding mental health issues by talking about their impact on all of our lives. Self-care and showing yourself kindness on top of your physical health through nutrition, exercise and rest are essential for our overall well-being. We haven't stopped #CelebratingTheRADDESTDecades! We fundraised, socialized and danced the night away with our RAD guests. You could say we are hip and can host a funky, fresh party! 🪩✨🕺 This year, we were able to host nearly 400 guests! This celebration was a blast from the past and took our 10th year from groovy to golden by raising over $400,000! We are so grateful for our community and the overwhelming amount of support we receive each year. This class not only serves as a powerful means of self-expression, but it promotes movement, social connection, coordination, and, most importantly, it's FUN! Dancing with friends fosters a sense of community and belonging, positively impacting overall emotional well-being. At RAD Camp, we shine a light on every individual with unique and amazing abilities, regardless of disability, diagnosis, or description! Who could forget our incredible Kitchen Angels?! Join us in saying THANK YOU to our incredible Kitchen Angels for supporting RAD Camp's special diets and meal duties! Whether it was handing out trays, refreshing lemonade, or serving tasty food, their dedication ensured that meal times ran smoothly and safely. 🍽️ Over 180 Kitchen Angels across both camps selflessly dedicated their time to keep Camp fueled and energized so we could have fun all week! We love our Kitchen Angels! 😇

American Sign Language is a "hands-on" experience, and we brought it to our programs this year! The addition of this program helps our campers and counselors create a deeper understanding of language and overall communication, which can improve cognitive skills and stimulate conversation. We are trying to break down communication barriers to create a stronger, more inclusive community. 🤟👋 Throughout the week, we enjoyed enhancing our signing skills and exchanging knowledge, covering everything from learning the colors and the alphabet to signing our favorite musical songs! We were incredibly lucky to have added the American Sign Language program this year as we focused on developing our camp activities and incorporating beneficial classes for everyone at RAD Camp. We are grateful for our volunteers who dedicated their time to lead this program and educate us about the importance of ASL and how to broaden our communication skills. 💜

How RADical is this?! We had the chance to celebrate and highlight everyone's talents, interests and passions at our RAD Camp Talent Showcase. The diverse abilities and skills our campers share with us help foster a deeper sense of connection and understanding within our RAD community. Whether through talents showcased at events or daily interactions, promoting self-expression and acceptance contributes to a happier and more inclusive community for all. We were so grateful everyone could join us to revel in all the talent - thank you to everyone who cheered on our amazing friends! 👏🎭🎤

We've got some RAD Nurses! 🩺 From giving out medications and helping with breathing treatments to providing band-aids and everything in between, they help create a nurturing environment where our campers and volunteers feel safe and cared for. Thank you for being the guiding light, the soothing presence and the dedicated caregivers our campers and team rely on. We are so fortunate that many of our nurses generously donate their hours back to RAD. They are a HUGE part of what makes RAD Camp so special!
