If you're in the Media & Entertainment business, you may have heard of Qvest.US. They’re a technology consultancy that was born and raised in media – supporting the world’s largest broadcasters, studios and gaming companies. A few months ago, Qvest.US asked me to lead their growing Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) division. There’s already a natural synergy between M&E and CPG with CPG brands using media channels to connect with customers. The difference now is that CPG brands have flipped the script, creating content like media companies to tell stories about their products, build communities of interest, and engage their customers in new ways. There’s a recent expression making the rounds that “every company needs to be a media company.” With robust resources and a deep commitment to transforming into experience brands, no other industry is better positioned to pull it off than CPG. That said, there are significant data, people and technology challenges to overcome. Creating high-quality content is one thing. Using it to connect and engage with customers is another. We believe the road to profitability for the CPG industry is also paved with DTC, hyper-personalization and omni-channel optimization.
