2024 AIA WISCONSIN DESIGN AWARD WINNERS ANNOUNCED We are pleased to announce the AIA Wisconsin Design Award Winners of 2024! This year, from a field of 52 project entries designed by AIA Wisconsin architects statewide, AIA Wisconsin has recognized 14 projects for design excellence. Three projects were awarded the Honor Award for overall design excellence, which is the highest honor given; six projects received Merit Awards, recognizing exceptional work in a focused area of design; five projects received Special Recognition Awards for outstanding achievement in specific elements of design such as Brownfield Transformation or Exterior Detailing. Berghammer's renovation of the City on a Hill Milwaukee Health & Wellness Center, in partnership with Quorum Architects, Inc. and the City on a Hill team, is a great example. We renovated and expanded 9,800+ square feet, creating: · Four modern dental operatories · Mental health consultation rooms · Versatile community gathering and health education spaces · A dedicated front entrance for a better patient and visitor experience The design prioritized patient comfort and healing in modern, welcoming spaces; historical preservation, respecting the building's heritage; and accessibility and sustainability, ensuring ease of use and environmental responsibility. 🌟 City on a Hill is a beacon of hope, providing vital healthcare services to underserved communities in Milwaukee. Quorum was the proud recipient of three Mayors Design Awards with our teams for Habitat’s new housing models, McKinley School Lofts, and Wgema Campus! And we played a part in three other awards in the work our team does with non-profit redevelopment groups with whom we volunteer.
