In addition we are calling for a moratorium on the sale of leaded AVGAS. There should be environmental justice for all, not just the rich and powerful. Florida has a fragile ecosystem. The Naples Airport Authority (NAA) should increase user fees to generate funds for addressing noise, air, and water pollution. Private jet users should bear the cost for their convenience. They enjoy their privileges while we suffer from sleep disturbances, respiratory diseases, and have limited access to clean water for recreation. #environment #pollution #aviation #activism

A routine annual Naples Airport Authority budget presentation turned into a grilling by Naples City Council, which questioned the airport’s executive director about issues ranging from moving the airport, increased flights and noise to renegotiating the airport’s $1 yearly lease. The discussion occurred during Wednesday's City Council meeting, after Naples Airport Executive Director Chris Rozansky finished a presentation on the airport’s $39.19 million budget and its continued measures to monitor and reduce aircraft noise over nearby homes. The noise caused by landings The noise from aircraft landings and takeoffs creates a no-man's land around the airport. If Naples Airport relocated from the central Naples area, property values in that neighborhood would likely increase. After the soil toxins were cleaned up, the property could be sustainably redeveloped.and takeoffs makes the area surrounding the airport a no-man's land. If the Naples Airport moved away from "central Naples," property values in that neighborhood would probably soar. After soil toxins were cleaned up, the property could be "sustainably" redeveloped.

After hearing from airport tenants, businesses, passengers and residents, the Naples Airport Authority agreed it should meet with Naples City Council and the Board of County Commissioners to gather more input on possibly moving the 81-year-old airport. It’s one thing to vote on the following regulation.. However these local municipalities need to be reminded rails fall under interstate commerce… It’s convenient for politicians to appear they are doing “something” for their voter base, by picking on the outlier … While millions of personal vehicles choke the LA Basin with traffic and particulate emissions..

The BCCC has no intention of upgrading the sewage treatment systems in Collier County, despite frequent harmful algal blooms occurring in freshwater and in the Gulf of Mexico. The problem with nitrogen in the county is caused by the disposal of untreated reclaimed water on various properties across the region. Currently, sewage treatment plants only provide secondary treatment, which does not eliminate nutrients such as nitrogen. As a result, the county's reclaimed water system distributes all the nutrients from the untreated sewage influent, spreading nitrogen throughout the county's ponds and non-potable irrigation users. Unfortunately, the county has failed to reduce nitrogen loading, and the problem is further exacerbated through new sewer connections and septic-to-sewer conversions.
