Q Street was pleased to welcome historian, political commentator, and author Neil Young who discussed his new book, “Coming Out Republican: A History of the Gay Right.” We had an insightful discussion on the origins, motivations, and evolutions of LGBTQ+ Republicans and those involved in modern conservatism. We also dove into key moments in LGBTQ history where bipartisanship moved along LGBTQ #policy, such as during the HIV/AIDS crisis, and explored how to return to that era of partnership across the ideology spectrum. Join Q Street next Tuesday at Monument Advocacy for a book talk with Neil J. Young, the author of the recently published, "Coming Out Republican A History of the Gay Right". Neil Young is a political historian and commentator and in "Coming Out Republican", he provides the first comprehensive history of the gay Right. From the 1950s up to the present day, Young excavates the multifarious origins, motivations, and evolutions of LGBTQ+ people who found their way to the institutions and networks of modern conservatism.
