Splunk & Python - it’s such a classic combination, just like peanut butter & jelly 😃 It was a real pleasure to sponsor last week’s PyCon PL in Gliwice and meet so many Python enthusiasts! Thank you all for the great vibes! 😍 Special thanks to all the brave Python'ers who took on our Splunk Tech Quiz challenge, and of course let us not forget about the lucky winners - congratulations! ❤️ 💛 💗 We’re not going anywhere and will continue to support the Python Coding community - so, you know, see you next time! P.S. Special thanks go to Filip Kłębczyk for organising PyCon PL 2024, our speakers Wojciech Smołka , Joanna Grzywna, Hubert Sękowski & Pawel Sadowski and all energetic Splunkers who made our booth a place to be!

We’ve just wrapped up PyCon PL 2024, and while we may be a bit worn out, we’re absolutely energized by the incredible experience! 🎉 It was a whirlwind of insightful talks, hands-on workshops, and inspiring conversations. Massive thanks to our lineup of fantastic speakers: 🔹 Jan Bielecki & Kamila Kazimierska took us on a deep dive into Multi-core processing in Python using Per-interpreter GIL, redefining how we think about Python performance. 🔹 Jayesh Kothari wowed us once again with AI-Driven Data Visualization with Python, pushing the boundaries of how we visualize and understand data. 🔹 Mateusz Zaremba along with Krzysztof W. from AWS showcased the magic of Lambda Powertools + Pydantic, giving serverless developers the ultimate toolbox! Lightning talks were an absolute hit, with special mentions to: 🔸 Jayesh Kothari for The Diverse Species of PyCon Attendees – a hilarious and spot-on analysis of the Python community! 🔸 Piotr Grędowski for Meme driven development (MDD): Battle of Memes! – who presented an app he built in just two hours to vote for the best tech meme. Spoiler alert: the app didn’t work as planned, so instead of voting, we all just had a good laugh at the memes themselves. Sometimes, it’s all about the fun, right?. A huge shoutout to Piotr Grędowski and Dorota Ostrowska for leading the inspiring 2-day PyLadies workshop. Your commitment to fostering diversity in tech was truly remarkable, and we're so grateful for your hard work! And none of this would’ve been possible without our behind-the-scenes heroes. Big thanks to the incredible Sandra Staros team and the stellar IT Service Desk for making everything run like clockwork. Finally, a special thanks to Jagoda Wojciechowska, our communication guru, for keeping everyone in the loop and engaged, and to Filip Kłębczyk for ensuring PyCon PL 2024 was a smashing success! To everyone who trusted us – thank you. Together, we’ve proven we can achieve great things, and we’re only just getting started! Counting down to next year! 🐍✨ Karolina Kowalska, Muzaffar Fakhruddin, Susanne Bork Klussmann, PyLadies Poland, PyCon PL

Still buzzing from the incredible energy at last week's PyCon PL 🐍 In our dynamic-duo with Mateusz Zaremba, we had a pleasure to present "Lambda Powertools + Pydantic - Your Best Friends for Serverless Development". Our talk focused mostly on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and coding best practices utilizing those two, powerful, open source modules! ☁️ Massive thanks to the organizers for putting together such an amazing conference. 🔊 Special shoutout to CPython core developers Łukasz Langa and Pablo Galindo Salgado for their amazing keynotes and late-evening conversations going WAY beyond Python! To all the attendees and speakers: you made this experience unforgettable. The exchanges, insights, and connections we shared were truly inspiring! Additional recognition (I promise, I'm almost done 😉) goes to the wonderful people from Ørsted for their support of PyLadies Poland and to Splunk for sponsoring PyCon PL. It was great to hang out with all of you! 🥳 This conference was special in more ways than one. Already looking forward to next PyCon! 🚀 #Python #PyConPL #PyCon #AWS #Pydantic #AWSLambdaPowertools

Last week I had the opportunity to join PyCon PL 2024 as a speaker. Just like in the last two years, I had a lot of fun. Usually, my conference talks are technical deep dives into some relatively niche machine learning topic. Not this time! On Friday, I gave a presentation titled "SAY NO TO NOTEBOOKS", focusing on the downsides - and dangers - of using Jupyter Notebooks and how to mitigate them (and stop using notebooks altogether). This is certainly the most ideological I ever got at a conference ;) so I'm thrilled the talk was so well received. Seems like many Python developers feel the need to commiserate about the "notebook in production" experience. (See the caption with the final question in the Q&A panel I refused to answer publicly!) The talk even got featured on a podcast by Python core developers Łukasz Langa and Pablo Galindo Salgado, which I consider a great honor. It's not every day that the creator of Black highlights your talk :). The conference was packed with interesting presentations, so it's difficult to pick my own highlights. I'm also waiting for the recordings to become available online because I couldn't join some of them due to time clashes - I'm particularly looking forward to watching "Jak pisać kod, aby nadawał się na produkcję" by Agnieszka Biernacka which was arranged for the same spot as mine. I also missed some talks because I had already attended (and enjoyed) them at 4Developers Python track last year. The most entertaining and informative talks: - "Dependency management, done right" by Daniel Hervás - a great talk about package management and going beyond requirements.txt. I enjoyed it a lot, and I admire Daniel's dedication to updating the presentation as a new version of uv was released the evening before. - "Data Morph: A Cautionary Tale of Summary Statistics" by Stefanie Molin - a fun presentation about building a package for educational purposes and how difficult it can be to reuse research code. It really spoke to my statistician's heart. - "Having fun with Pydantic and pattern matching" by 🐍 Sebastian Buczyński - I love talks that make me want to refactor my entire codebase because the flow presented looks so elegant. - "The Snake of Theseus" by Pablo Galindo Salgado - if not the best, then certainly the fastest keynote I have ever attended at a technical conference. I admire Pablo's ability to mix a technical deep dive into how Python worked, works, and will work in the future with a compelling narrative about what Python truly is. - I can't not mention the invisibility cloak live demo during lightning talks sessions - so fun and clever. A big thanks to all the speakers and conference organizers. You make PyCon PL a truly unique experience every year! #PyCon #PyConPL #Python

Back from PyCon PL. Absolutely exhausted and SO happy to have attended (and sad that it ended 😅). I met so many great people there, you guys were amazing and I can't wait to see you all again soon. Thanks to Reckon Digital for allowing me to be there. I also want to shout out the organizers and my friend Filip Kłębczyk in particular. This is first and foremost a passion project and it's admirable the amount of time and dedication it takes to put this together, just for the love of the community. Your work is highly appreciated. Already counting the days to hopefully be back next year. (and thanks Iryna Kondrashchenko for the picture 😜)
