While there has been a tremendous outpouring of initial support, there continues to be great need as we recover and begin to rebuild. It has been just over a week since wildfires had a profound impact on our community. We are deeply grateful to the firefighters, first responders, and Parks Canada members for their heroic efforts. Also, the tremendous support we’ve received from across the province, the nation, and around the world has been truly inspiring. Our team, our community, and the restoration of Jasper remain our top priorities. Over the past week, we have concentrated on aiding those impacted by the fire by providing emergency accommodation, meals, essential supplies, and transportation. We are also working to secure housing solutions for our team and those involved in re-entry efforts. As we move forward, we stand shoulder to shoulder with the community. While 30% of Jasper has experienced significant devastation from the fire, 70% of the town, including homes, businesses and hotels were thankfully untouched by fire and left intact. We are also relieved that all Pursuit hotels and experiences in the Jasper townsite, as well as Pyramid Lake Lodge, Miette Mountain Cabins and Maligne Lake Cruise were unaffected by the fire. Earlier this week, Parks Canada communicated that if current conditions continue, Parks Canada visitor services are expected to open Sept 3. While further details are still being established for safe re-entry to the Jasper townsite, we are optimistic that other areas of Jasper National Park will soon be safe to re-open. Our commitment to Jasper is unwavering, and we will continue to support the people and invest in rebuilding Jasper, reaffirming its place as one of Canada’s most treasured destinations. HOW TO HELP JASPER 🏔️ Thanks to the unwavering dedication of our firefighters and emergency responders, combined with a bit of luck from Mother Nature, the wildfire in the townsite has been contained. While the situation continues to evolve, momentum is positive. However, much work still lies ahead. Jasper is an authentic, resilient community that has faced challenges before. We’re confident that the spirit of Jasper is more powerful than fire or natural disaster. Jasper will rebuild, stronger and better than before. Here’s how you can help the community: Donate funds to organizations that help us direct funding to those who need it most, including @jaspercommunityteamsociety and @banffcanmorefoundation's Rocky Mountain Community Relief Fund.

The community of Jasper has suffered unimaginable loss as a result of devastating wildfires. With everyone safely evacuated from the townsite our focus is on taking care of each other. We have a challenging road ahead and will continue to be there for our team, their families and our neighbours. We are working closely with the municipality of Jasper, Parks Canada and tourism partners and together we remain strong and resilient. We want to thank firefighters and emergency workers for their heroic efforts, as they work tirelessly around the clock and will continue to do so in the coming days. While we are still learning of the full impact of the fires, we are fully committed to supporting Jasper and its recovery.

Today, we are privileged to welcome one of Jasper’s most recognized attractions to Pursuit with the addition of the Jasper SkyTram.   We are also pleased to welcome new team members to Pursuit, with the addition of the current SkyTram team.     This iconic experience, celebrating 60 years of operation this year, provides visitors with stunning views of Jasper and the surrounding Canadian Rocky Mountains and is a bucket list stop when visiting Jasper National Park.    This new acquisition, subject to the engagement and consent through Parks Canada’s lease assignment process, illustrates our commitment in ensuring sustainable growth across Pursuit. And we are excited to plan for the future refresh and renewal of the SkyTram together with the Jasper community and in alignment with Parks Canada.
