Community Strategist Amber Campbell joined the Family Fall Festival this week at Hazelwood Central High School to share more about PreventEd's programs and support Hazelwood’s coalition of school social workers, Hazelwood Bright Futures. The festival included an abundance of community resources, line dancing, and performances from the school's drum line and cheerleaders. Thanks to Hazelwood School District for having us—we had a blast!

🎙️When we say Greenhouse Communication Initiative Founder Stacy Bernaugh is a really good speaker, we mean it. After finding his place in speech and debate in college, Stacy realized the critical importance of educational experiences that prepare students for the professional world. He shares with Nichole his passion for education, discusses opportunities provided by The GCI, Inc., and even touches on code switching and the loaded meaning behind some of the language used to describe a person's speech. #PrevenTablePodcast #SolutionsNotStigma 🎧 and/or 📺 today: https://lnkd.in/gz37CJB8

🎙️ How do substance use counselors evaluate an adult who uses cannabis to sleep at night versus a person on probation from the justice system with cannabis use disorder? The lines have become even blurrier after cannabis was legalized in Missouri, but our Director of Behavioral Health Jaidan Adams is here to better explain the assessment and referral process. Jaidan emphasizes the importance of creating a comfortable environment for clients and her focus on harm reduction and promoting safer use, providing valuable insights into the evolving needs of those PreventEd serves. #PrevenTablePodcast #SolutionsNotStigma 🎧 and/or 📺 today: https://lnkd.in/gz37CJB8

#TeamDED's Youth Opportunities Program (YOP) supports #MO organizations that are brightening futures for kids statewide, with up to $6 million in tax credits available each year. Thank you to each of our 2024 YOP recipients for #HelpingMissouriansProsper! Today, meet PreventEd of St. Louis, #MO! “The Youth Opportunities Program will help fund classroom-based substance use prevention lessons for area students. Prevention lessons not only teach age-appropriate information on substances, but also the resiliency and life-skills for young people to manage any difficulties they may encounter. This includes conflict resolution, friendships, and dealing with stress. These early lessons provide the building blocks for strong and successful youth. With the support of YOP, we can continue to collaborate with schools to provide lessons at no cost and reduce barriers for the schools and families.” - Jenny Armbruster, Interim Executive Director Learn more about PreventEd: prevented.org
