Congratulations to AWH Architects on all their award nominations and we're so thrilled you joined us on this special evening. Thank you for your commitment to historic preservation!!
AWH Architects was honored to attend the first annual Wrecking Ball of 2024 gala, hosted by Rethos. We were proud to be nominated for the Lifetime Achievement Award, and two of our projects—Zenith DCHS in Duluth and The Guardian Building in St. Paul—both in the Outstanding Historic Tax Credit Projects category. AWH was thrilled to join our peers in celebrating architectural preservation and supporting Rethos’ important work. The evening also spotlighted Rethos’ efforts to champion the Conversion of Underutilized Buildings (CUB) tax credit and expand the Minnesota Main Streets program into the Twin Cities. AWH is excited to be a part of these initiatives to help transform vacant buildings and revitalize our communities. Congratulations to all the winners and nominees, and thank you to Rethos for leading the charge in shaping Minnesota’s future! #AWH #PreservationMatters #HistoricTaxCredits #AWHArchitects #ZenithDCHS #GuardianBuilding #RethosGala #CommunityRevitalization #CommunityImpact #ArchitecturalNews #IndustryEvents

So glad you made the trip to Madison, Mark! Things are happening there—and thrilled you visited Madison Mercantile. There is a story about the space in our last magazine and on our blog! https://lnkd.in/ghuc6MwX
I spent last Thursday on UMN Extension’s “Connecting Entrepreneurial Communities” field trip to Madison, MN. What a great experience! Most the trip revolved around the Mercantile, a 13,000 square foot space for the community to connect, create, and incubate their business. They had a mini makerspace, coffee shop, gallery, studios, and even a guy growing mushrooms. The whole community is finding ways to say “yes” to services and amenities to keep people living in town (which is 50+ miles from the closest WalMart). I’ve got a flurry of ideas, thanks to great conversations with Rethos, Southwest Minnesota Small Business Development Center , Project 412 MN, UMN Extension Community Development and many more!

Thank you Jessica Irving Marschall and The Green Mission Inc. for supporting the Gala and Rethos' mission!
We had the pleasure of attending the Rethos Wrecking Ball, where sustainable individuals and businesses were recognized for their remarkable contributions to the built environment through advocacy, sustainable building rehabilitation, historic tax credits, and deconstruction. A special shoutout to deconstruction rockstar Olivia Cashman for her incredible work in the field! 🙌 A huge thank you to the Rethos team, especially Joshua Hauf and Emily Noyes Noyse, for their hard work in securing a grant to implement a deconstruction training certification program. Lastly, a heartfelt thank you to my fellow BOD members for their dedication to keeping beautiful architectural elements out of the landfill and for promoting sustainable business practices. ♻️ #RethosWreckingBall #Deconstruction #Sustainability #CircularEconomy #HistoricPreservation #GreenMission #BuiltEnvironment Chase D.
