We Move People Forward

About us

PRC is a new $30-million San Francisco nonprofit formed through the merger of Positive Resource Center, Baker Places, and AIDS Emergency Fund. Leveraging a 50-year legacy of community service, PRC is focused on ending homelessness and improving the quality of life in the City by removing social barriers to good health and financial stability. Through PRC’s uniquely integrated legal, social, and health services each year more than 5,000 people are building income, getting healthy, and staying housed. The mission of PRC is to help people affected by HIV/AIDS, substance use, or mental health issues better realize opportunities by providing integrated legal, social, and health services that address the broad range of social risk factors that impact wellness and limit potential.

Many people on San Francisco's streets don't have the legal representation they need to get the benefits they deserve and require to leave homelessness behind. Help us close this gap in legal representation by supporting PRC during Mighty Real, this Friday, October 4! prcsf.org/mightyreal

Did you know that job loss is the leading cause of homelessness? Twenty-two percent of unhoused people in San Francisco reported losing their job was the primary event that led them to lose their housing. PRC puts people back to work in meaningful careers that pay 39% more than San Francisco's minimum wage, helping them regain stability and rebuild their lives. Join us at Mighty Real on Friday, October 4, to be part of this solution. Tickets on sale now at prcsf.org/mightyreal

"The Saturday-night memorial was set against a backdrop of more than 1,100 votive candles, each representing an overdose casualty since the start of last year, the deadliest on record for overdoses in San Francisco. So far in 2024, the fatalities, largely driven by fentanyl, are on track to nearly match last year’s numbers." We can and must do better for these families and countless other members of our community impacted by addiction. Of the roughly 30 million Americans who reported having lived with a substance use disorder at some point in their life, more than 70% say they're in recovery. At PRC, our wide range of residential treatment services help support clients in their recovery journey through community, case management, and addressing other parts of wellbeing like physical and mental health. If you or someone you know needs support getting into recovery, call the Department of Public Health's 24/7 access line at 888-246-3333 or visit at 1380 Howard St.

Lovely moment where PRC’s Workforce Development Managing Director, Joseph Ramirez-Forcier met Ryan White’s mother, Jeanne White-Ginder at the 2024 National Ryan White Conference! It was fantastic to hear her speak and learn about the HRSA Ryan White Program’s 2030 vision for ending the epidemic. We are honored to continue a decades-long legacy of innovating and supporting comprehensive efforts to end the HIV epidemic from a place of cultural humility and community-led care.⭐ #hrsa #ryanwhite2024

"This was therapy for me!” That is what one volunteer said this past Saturday, as PRC staff, clients, and volunteers gathered at Robertson Place, one of our residential homes for people living with mental illness and substance use disorders, for a morning of community building and outdoor beautification. Huge thanks to everyone for their compassion and hard work in creating a revitalized, nurturing environment for healing and hope! Stay tuned for future opportunities to grow our Healing Spaces Initiative together.🌱 #PRCHealingSpaces
