    Congratulations to Dr. Deborah Adewole, recipient of the 2024 Canadian Society of Animal Science Young Scientist Award, sponsored by the employees of Masterfeeds in memory of Shane Carson, Director of Nutrition. This award is for recognition of the achievements of new members of the research community. Dr. Adewole is an Assistant Professor in Nonruminant Nutrition and Metabolism at the University of Saskatchewan's Department of Animal and Poultry Science. She completed her PhD in 2017 and a postdoctoral fellowship in 2018 from the University of Manitoba. Dr. Adewole joined Dalhousie University in 2018 and then moved to the University of Saskatchewan in September 2023 . Her research program focuses on applying nutritional strategies to improve poultry health, gastrointestinal functionality, and antimicrobial stewardship, aiming to enhance production efficiency and sustainability. Dr. Adewole has trained over 25 highly qualified personnel, including undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and research assistant and associates. Presenting the award to Dr. Adewole on behalf of Masterfeeds is Paul Groenewegen.
