Yes. It’s election season. But no matter what happens in November, U.S. cement manufacturers will still need government funding, fair and reasonable policies, and a less cumbersome permitting process in place to assist the industry in getting to net zero, as opposed to hindering it. Thank you, The Washington Times, for the coverage. It’s been a busy week for #sustainability, the #PCAroadmap, and #CarbonNeutrality. The NETL Carbon Management Project Review Meeting in Pittsburgh wraps up tomorrow. Noah Deich kicked things off Monday followed by Mark Ackiewicz with a technical thought leaders panel discussion. The point source capture included four separate #cement plant presentations and NETL’s Sally Homsy discussed TEA and LCA in the context of cement plants… and then it was on to Chicago for the Midwest Low-Carbon Concrete Convening at the Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) office downtown. Great event cosponsored by RMI, Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), and the White House Council on Environmental Quality. Many thanks to Ben Skinner at RMI, Andrés Clarens at OSTP, and Madeline Reeves - Deputy Chief Sustainability Officer at CEQ, for their leadership and to everyone that participated.
