The findings illustrate the rapid growth of small businesses, with their focus on Ohio. From the JumpStart report: ".........In 2023, companies supported by JumpStart funding, directly and indirectly, generated an estimated $910M of economic activity in Ohio (including estimated $350M million of economic activity generated by companies led by women, $25M generated by companies led by Black entrepreneurs and $5M generated by companies led by Latino/Hispanic entrepreneurs. These JumpStart-funded Companies supported an estimated 4,940 direct, indirect and induced jobs22 in Ohio. The jobs supported by the JumpStart Funded Companies had approximately $454 million of associated annual labor income, including benefits, and sustained an estimated 3,339 households in Ohio. Companies that received JumpStart funding generated an estimated $39 million in state and local taxes in Ohio and $100 million in federal taxes in 2023....."

Plug and Play Partners attended the Cleveland Impact Program's 20th Small Business Showcase, an entrepreneurial showcase competition sponsored by JumpStart Inc. held at the House of Blues. This year's cohort of five businesses presented their plans for business growth including building brand awareness, staffing, and capital needs. All five entrepreneurs did a great job pitching their needs. Having a good elevator speech, pitch line, and solid financials are all elements that are needed for gaining the attention of investors.
